Holiday in Dominican Republic or Thailand?

IM considering an all inclusive holiday in the Dominican Republic or a Holiday in Thailand this summer (two weeks)

Was wondering which is the better location in terms of value, quality & exoticness and any recommendations or places to avoid?

I have been to the Dominican Republic various times and long to go to Thailand. I have friends that have been though and have done alot of research.

The Dominican Republic is probably the cheapest option in terms of the price of package deals - its common to find 2 week all inclusive deals for around £600 (depending when you go). However, because of flights etc Thailand works out more expensive BUT when you get there will be a lot cheaper. If you're going all inclusive though this doesn't really matter.

I'd say Thailand - because I havn't been and want to go BUT I did have FANTASTIC and I mean AMAZING times in the Dominican Republic every time I've been so I do believe everyone should see and experience the DR.

I've been to the Dominican Republic and stayed @ the Barcelo Beach in Peurto Plata. It was all inclusive (4 star) and a lot of fun. You had access to the Barcelo Casino Resort, Barcelo Golf, and a few other resorts. The food was pretty good. There were tours and other items you could take but be vary wary.

I haven't been to Thailand so I can't help you with that.

I have friends that suggested Cuba over the DR.

I've never been to the Dominican but i have stayed 4 weeks on various beaches in Thailand. Even if you don't do the all inclusive, it's an amazing trip! Nothing can top the beaches and snorkling off of Phuket.

it's a long way to travel but it's totally worth the drip.

I went to Dominican Republic with my parents and brother when I was bout 6ish.

I hated it. When we tried to go shopping a guy wouldn't let us leave unless we bought something n he grabbed my bro!

And people were trying to get you to do deals and sell stuff to you!

Maybe it was jst my bad experience but I'm never going there again. :l
