PS. I will start my journey from London.
Hello,
(ANS) Right NOW!! NOT a good time to be going to Thailand. The country is in political chaos as there are a large number of militants who want to bring down the countries Prime Minister, they accuse him of corruption.
**Airports have been closed & UK tourists have been trapped recently. I don't know if the situation has improved at all.
**My advise would be to visit the Home Office website were they post advise to UK people on how safe it is to visit places like Thailand.
SEE:- http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travelling-and-living-overseas/travel-advice-by-country/
Kind Regards Ivan.
Here is your rough guide.
Find ticket on edreams.com london-Bangkok is around
1000 +,- 50 euro.
About the political probs you may avoid it by travelling to island or somewhere out of bangkok.
MAin touristic places I would recommand IS south of thailand.
Try Krabi. tonsai-railey beach You can go to Khoasan road for more information.
Khoasan road is a cheap place for new traveller most of people there speak english so you won't have problem finding things or places you want to go.
Hotel- a very good one price is sround 30-100 euro depends on how luxury you looking for.
nice cheap guest houses or hostel you can find as chaep as 3-10 euro/ night
Food- Foods are realy cheap in thailand
it can be really cheap if you eat from street cart noodle or something available out there around 1-3 euro.
Fancy restaurent per meal is not more than 5 or 10 euro (exclusive-alcohol drinks ofcoz)
Shops- shirt are 3 euros or a bit more depends on quality.
transportation.-
Flight London_bangkok -1020 euro or around that.
Flight Domestic in Thailand around 80-110 euro for you have short trip wouldn't want to waste time for the bus I supposed.
But the bus to go down south or up north is around 15-20 euro + one night trip to get there.
If you decide to go to Tonsai I recommand MAMBO bangalow. the price is around 4 euro to 10 euro and it next to the beach. :)
have fun!
TIPS. ** when you arrive buy yourself some insect repellent.
Hi
Thailand is a beautiful place to see,and its very calm country. i have been there many times and never found anything wrong there.i have been to pataya, bangkok, phuket.one thing i must tell you phuket is one of the best place i have ever seen in my life.must go there, you will fall in love with its beauty.the hotels are not costly in thailand u can easily get a hotel for between 400 to 600 THB which is ecnomical.i have some pictures of phuket and its beauty on facebook u can see them my id is minchy_me@yahoo.com
Dont listen to the doom and gloom people. Thailand is still a very happy and safe place for holidays. Hotels are still available 3star for about 25 usd. Food is wonderful and cheap. Beaches clean beer cold and the locals are great.
You can see 1,000's of current actual Thai photos at http://www.visualthailand.com. This will give you a great idea of the places in Thailand you want to visit.
Try looking at the news before you decide to come here. Hopefully everything will be OK by Oct, but I would wait before I make any plans.
