Can insurance companies check a drivers convictions following an accident?

Are Insurance companies able to check your previous driving history - say following a ban, after you have an accident.

Sorry, you've got your information backwards. Most insurance companies will run an MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) on you based on your driver's license number and they will also run a CLUE report (vehicle history report) on the car based upon the VIN number.

The CLUE will tell them if that particular vehicle was in any accidents, but it may not tell them who owned or insured the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The MVR will show them any traffic violations you have on your driving record. This includes traffic convictions, but not convictions for other offenses, such as assault, breaking and entering, etc.

If your license was suspended due to an accident, or you have any traffic violations due to the accident, the insurance company will find out.

Yes, insurance companies run an MVR (Motor vehicle report) on you when you first buy the policy. They also run your MVR every time your policy renews to see if you've had any violations. They will then adjust your rates accordingly.

If it is on your driving record then then the answer is yes.

You can get a copy of your driving record by paying a small fee at your local DMV office.

Yes, they can run your driving record anytime they need to access your risk factor.

Yes they can. You cant hide from them.

What are the dangers in using my health insurance to get medication for someone else?

My boyfriend neeeeds to quit smoking, he smokes like more than a pack a day! But! He doesnt have health insurance, and i have great health insurance through my job. Are there any potential dangers to getting him a prescription for chantix on my health insurance ? (i socially smoke so it wouldnt be a huge stretch at the docs office) Could it increase my insurance costs to admit that i am a "smoker" to insurers?

what country are you in? i am in australia and i work for a private health insurer. If you do live in Australia or a country that has a similar system, it does not increase the cost of your private health insurance if you are a smoker.

if you are however caught for claiming medication that is not for yourself under your private health insurance, your health cover will be terminated and you run the risk of legal action.

I hope that helps!

It won't increase your premiums because you're on your employer's group plan, but if you ever submit a large claim, your insurance company could comb through your records, discover that you "lied" about not being a smoker and use that as an excuse to deny your claim. If your boyfriend wants to quit and can't do it without the drug, he can pay for the prescription himself without insurance. I also think he'll be more likely to stick to the program if he spends his own money on it. The cost will be worth it if he successfully quits because he will no longer have to spend $40 a week ($2,000 a year) on cigarettes.

How can I become an independent insurance agent for car and life insurance?

I know I need licenses, clients etc but can someone tell me how can I get a system or something to give people quotes? I don't want to work for any insurance company. I want to quote insurance from multiple sources how do I do that?

You will have to meet with different general brokers and become licensed to sell their products. You will need a separate license for each line. You will need a computer and load the software to be able to quote. Or, you can go to work for an independent broker and use his resources. Good luck to you. If you are really interested in doing this, call some of the large independent brokers in your area and ask for an interview. They are always looking for producers.

It is next to impossible to start your own agency without having a lot of insurance experience. There are regulations that are hard for long time agents to stay in compliance with. You couldn't possibly know all of them and keep out of trouble with your state's commissioners office.

Go to work for an independent agent in your area. Learn the ropes of writing and servicing policies. If you really like the business, learn your state's regulations regarding the operation of an agency. By then, you will have a good idea of the fixtures, equipment and so many other things that you will need to open your own agency.

Another option is to purchase and existing agency.

Sign up for an independent marketing organization.

Well, simply put, you need a location, at least 1 year of operating money, P/C license, Business License, good computer, printer (with scanner preferred), filing cabinets, among others. Some good software to use that provides rates for multiple companies is call Accu-Auto. Apart from that, you definitely need some elbow grease (lol).

You can work independently and put your business through a general agency. They will do all the work for your (quote products and process the paperwork), then they will pay you the commission. In most cases you will make the same commission whether you go direct or work through a general agency.

How can I get a liability insurance for my cleaning business?

I have called to a few insurance companies to get a general liability insurance, and I have been turned down, because I have barely any experience in the cleaning business. How then can I start and get an insurance at the same time? Do I have to lie to them and tell them that I have 10 years of experience?

Yep, no standard carrier is going to write liability policy on a NEW business. So, you're trying to call companies - Nationwide, State Farm, Farmers, etc. That's where you're going wrong.

You need a local, INDEPENDENT agent, who can access the excess market. It's likely going to cost you $1500 for the first three years.

Lying about the time in business isn't going to do you any good, because they'll all want three years of "loss runs" from your prior insurance, to PROVE that you've had insurance, for the past three years. If you can't cough up the loss runs, they will treat you like a brand new business.

You can find a local independent agent near you, in the yellow pages, or at www.iiaa.org

What you need is commercial insurance.

Commercial insurance is insurance for a business. In fact, it is one of the most important investments a business owner can make. Commercial insurance can be instrumental in protecting a business from potential loss caused by unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances.

Commercial insurance can provide valuable protection against such things as theft, property damage, and liability. It can also provide coverage for business interruption and employee injuries. A business owner who chooses to operate a business without insurance puts his enterprise at risk of losing money and property in the wake of an unfortunate event. In some situations, a business owner may even place personal money and property at risk by failing to secure adequate commercial insurance.

Finding commercial insurance can be as simple as locating a reliable agent who specializes in commercial insurance. It is best to interview several different agents and select a licensed, knowledgeable agent with whom you feel comfortable. The agent you choose should be able to discuss different types of commercial insurance with you and assist you in selecting the best type for your particular needs.

The Internet is an excellent resource for finding insurance agents. You may also find information about agents through local business networking organizations. Business contacts, especially those in related industries, may be able to provide agent referrals as well.

Depending on your particular business, there may be some types of commercial insurance you don’t need. For example, you may need commercial property insurance, but not commercial auto insurance. Keep in mind, however, that it is wise to learn about the different types of commercial insurance, even if you don’t need them all. As your business grows and expands, you may discover that your insurance needs change. Obtaining preliminary information now will provide you with the basic information you need to decide whether or not to add to or change your policy later.

Though most businesses are able to obtain commercial insurance with ease, for others, securing insurance is difficult. For example, a business that has already experienced a considerable loss may be viewed as a high-risk company. To insurance companies, significant previous losses translate into a heightened risk of high or frequent claims.

A business may also be considered high risk if it is fairly new or involved in operations that make frequent insurance claims more likely. In such situations, securing commercial insurance is not impossible. However, your agent may need to provide you with options for finding insurance through non-standard avenues.

To get various quotes with ease check out the links below:

Randy C.

You just need a business policy. What kind of cleaning business is it? Is it a Dry Cleaners? Almost anyone will take that type of business.

If your business is cleaning other people's homes that is a business that few companies will take so you will probly need to see a broker. That business is more risky for insurance because there is more chance of someone getting hurt or something being stolen.

Look for a commercial insurance broker.

try commercial insurers like Aon or Tradex.

What is the best professional indemnity insurance provider and quote for a web design firm?

Im looking to purchase professional indemnity insurance for my web design firm. Who is the best provider? What is the best quote? What sort of costs should I be paying?

Also if we move into Internet consultancy will these insurances cover this?

And finally, what other insurance is required for this kind of business?

Thanks.

There isn't a "best" one out there. You want someone who writes inusrance in your area - that's not going to be everyone! Coverage excluding consulting should run you about $1500 a year. Consulting is EXPENSIVE. The last e-consultant I got a policy for, it was running about $3,000 a year, and he was a one man firm.

You're going to need a business policy or package policy for your general liability and contents, plus office exposure, then the professional liability, and workers comp for any employees.

You need to sit down with a local, INDEPENDENT agent, to get a variety of quotes. You'll need to update your agent, as your operations change, to be sure you're still covered.

State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide, none of these companies are going to write you if you don't have three years of prior insurance history - that's why I say an INDEPENDENT agent, instead of one of these agents.

Insurance ???

how to put commercial-Insurance on my truck,

for my company when the truck is in my name and my state is nh and we do not have commercial-plates in this state and will i better with c-insurance than paying inexperience driver on my insurance on my truck which is a 1994 gmc SS 454 7.4l v8 big block one ton truck with all of the options, the truck books for $15,000

how much is Insurance for this truck worth

You can get commercial auto insurance in your person name if it is commercial use. Sounds like it is. Also, it sounds like the truck is over 10,000 GVW & if it is, it does not qualify for personal auto insurance. Call your agent & find out. You may have to put your business name on the vehicle to get a commercial package. Otherwise you will probably have to get the policy with Progessive on their business auto policy. Your young driver will still need to be listed on your personal insurance (if you have another personal use vehicle), so there really is no getting around that.

I got a great insurance plan through a company called ASI. I listed the contact information below. I hope this helps.

1.800.929.8344

Depending on your age the premium for a youthful driver may be more than commercial insurance. The use of the vehicle is the important factor, not the tag.

Here's what can happen if you do nothing. If you have a claim, your personal auto insurance can deny coverage because you are using your vehicle for business. It's right there on the policy under the "exclusions." Those guys delivering Pizzas with their cars? Essentially un insured.

Same goes for you under a Personal Auto Policy.

Go see a couple of different agents. While you are there you may as well get a quote for your work (contractor of some sort I assume) Most places have payment plans. You arent alone, its a step toward running your business right. It will help you with sales to show your customers that you have insurance in case anything goes wrong on the job.

Don't let the price scare you into a disaster! I've dealt with people in your situation many times and we almost always find a way to make it work out just fine.

You have to either declare the truck a commercial usage - which means, a higher rating than private passenger usage - or start a corporation and sign the truck over to your corporation.

Lots and lots of people have tried to get around surcharges and youthful drivers, by putting a private vehicle on a commercial policy. It hasn't been done in New England, in YEARS, because 1. a company that offers commercial coverage isn't going to give it on a vehicle with an operator under 25, without a 25% surcharge and 2. they require that the vehicle be classed as commercial (031) or delivery (021) in order to be able to be written - NOT service use, the cheapest class.

Sorry, it's not going to work.

FROM PAST EXPERIENCE IT WILL DOUBLE AT LEAST.

Insurance?????????????

Well, yesterday I got my license and my dad said i am not legally aloud to drive any more till i get my license. Is this true, does this mean I can't drive even with some one in the passengers seat. I have car insurance just not insurance on me yet. SO can i drive to work tomorrow or do I have to have my mom drive me?.

If you just got your license, didn't this question come up when you studied for the test?

You are now a licensed driver. All licensed drivers who are household members must be listed on the insurance. If they are not, and they are involved in an auto accident, the insurance will deny coverage.

Your dad is correct. Kindly ask him to put you on the policy. There will be a significant premium increase. Since you are working, perhaps you can offer to pay the difference in the rate increase. It is the responsible and adult thing to do.

Congrats and be sure you drive carefully.

Depending on the State normally someone over 21 has to be in the passenger seat or have a certain number of years behind the wheel. Call the Local DMV for more information. DMV is the Department of Motor Vehicles

If something happened doesn't claim any insurance

Insurance!?

Had accident in my car yesterday. Got fully comp insurance. Accident was my fualt. Insurance Excess is £400. Will i have to pay this to get the other persons car fixed?!

hi

The excess will only apply to damage to your own vehicle - not the claim by the third party. So the correct answer is "No" - your insurer will deal with the claim from the Third Party in full. You must notify the insurer as soon as possible and pass to the insurer any correpondence you receive.

If you've suffered damage to your own car and want the insurer to pay for repairs then the excess of £400 will be deducted from that part of the claim.

The ABI web site has some useful information on claims processes here: http://www.abi.org.uk/Display/default.asp?Menu_ID=1140&Menu_All=1,946,1140&Child_ID=415#UsefuIinfo

Hi i work for an insurance company and I hope some of this info helps you.

first things first never admit that it was your fault! not at the scene or to your insurance company. Thats for the two insurance companies to argue over. You just give them the details of the accident and they'll deal with it.

Your excess is payable in both non fault and fault claims. S yes you would be asked to pay it. In non fault cases the insurance company will give it you back as they will claim it from the other side.

Hope this helps

Insurance?

How much would No-Fault Insurance be for a 16-17 year old male in Michigan under a parent for a ten year old car?

Hi Terrence, I was able to save money through a free on-line quoting service at http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html

They had several links. All I did was fill out their quote request and received back a lot better rates then what I was paying.

I would suggest you try more than one quote before you settle with anyone, the service is free and there's no obligation so you might as well try it.

Can anyone suggest a cheap, Mediterranean holiday resort close to beaches, bars etc and free of children?

Looking for somewhere suitable for couples for a week during May, with some culture and not alot of British people!

croatia.. kind of connected to the med

Look at Bitez in Turkey. Its near Bodrum for nightlife but far enough away that you can relax. It is not set up for families with young children and has an OK beach with free sunbeds. Great restaurants and lovely people.

I stayed there a couple of years ago and it was wonderful. Very laid back with some small hotels with only 10 or 11 rooms and again, not kitted out for children.

Barcelona .... but watch your personal belongings. It's a beautiful city but oh, so full of petty criminals.

The "cheap" criteria is a problem; wherever it is cheap you will find families because at that stage in a family life, financing a holiday can be a big problem.

The answer is to go during Term Time when there won't be as many kids around or to chose somewhere which has no "kid appeal"

Unfortunately the Med abounds with child-friendly resorts.

For no-kids, read Madeira - but that's expensive and unless you take the ferry to Porto Santo, not very inviting beaches.

The Greek Islands don't have as many of the "bucket and sand brigade"; of the less "popular" ones (like Corfu) - Ios is one of my favourites, Evia & Aegina are also good; Santorini's black volcanic sand gets everywhere!

Or what about Cyprus - and include a trip over to the Holy Land - overnight trips are organised on the ferries? Korcula (Yugoslavia)? Menorca is less of a family attraction than Majorca.

dont you like children?no matter where you go abroad there will always be kids there enjoying them selves just like you....

I think Cyprus would be a good option. May is a great period for holidays in Cyprus since (unlike other Mediterranean destinations) the weather is hot enough for swimming. Paphos is a good choice. It is a city with ancient history, monuments and museums to visit, great beaches, great food and friendly people. You may also visit the Paphos mountains for a totally different experience of unspoiled green forests just half an hour from the beach.

As far as British tourists is concerned, they dominate the Mediterranean so you will not be able to avoid them anywhere.

Have a great time whatever you choose..!

Hiya!

How about Germany. Not a popular destination for familys. Warm in May, has beach on north coast. Research on net to find adult only hotels. Ie: through search engine.

Plenty of culture, not alot of british. Germans prefer not to speak English.

Let us know where you end up!

Phoebs

Ideas for what to do for a cheap short holiday in southwest UK next month for me and my boyfriend?

My boyfriend and I want to go away for a couple of days next month. We both live in Cornwall and don't have personal transport. We've looked at Butlins and caravan holidays but either it's a bit out of our price range or the caravan sites are closed! We're able to pay about £200 each. Neither of us have passports so we can't go abroad.

Can you think of any ideas?

I'm from Bognor and I wouldn't recommend Butlins. In the summer a Holiday there would prob be really nice but in jan/feb it's really horrible. If you just want to go for a couple of days, £400 could go really far. Have you thought about Brighton? Has a reputation for being expensive but depends on how you live! Great Clubs, great beach (even in this weather makes a good walk) great shops and sites. Caravan is not a good idea at this time of year anyway. I did a week in york few years ago in March and it was awful! so cold! you can get some great deals on lastminute.com for even really nice hotels. Also try tripadvisor.co.uk for some good ideas, advice and price comparison.

How likely are cheap last-minute flights during holiday season?

I'd like to fly home (Europe) for Christmas, but can't quite afford the current prices. Does anyone know if airlines will offer cheap last-minute deals for unbooked seats? I know it's risky, but would it be worth waiting for a cheap seat to open up? I mean, does this sometimes tend to happen during holiday season?

No, they usually stay the same or just keep growing higher. I have experience in this and I would advice you to book a while in advance.

I'm going the other direction and got a good fare from Italy to the US, I'm flying a couple of days before Christmas, but have to return on the 1st to get the cheap rate. It was less than half the fare compared to the same flights anywhere between the 2nd and 5th of January. This is often the case.

Sometimes they do have chip fare but not for holiday season ,they know everybody want to fly and visit a familly during holiday season,so I advise book a ticket right know othervise you might not going to make it.

For this Christmas? I don't think it's possible to get any thing cheap. It will pretty much cost you more money then your likely to have. Buying last minute tickets to Europe is never a good idea.

Where would be a cheap holiday destination that's hot & flies out from ireland to suit two young people?

I am looking for a cheap package sun holiday that is not Lanzarote. I would like a self catering holiday and I need the flight to be from Ireland, I would like to go for a week and if possible flyout of knock airport. I want something with lots of activities and water sports anda buzzing and friendly night lifeif at all possible some where they offer fishing excursions to tourists.

It needs to be cheap living over there as we are working with an extremely tight budget.

I found turkey to be great prices ,is knock served by cheap airlines coz found even flying belfast to london and from london onward had great prices as well comparing to flying from Belfast direct .

Alot of holidays i was saving couple of hundred just by going to england.

try llorett-de-mar on the costa brava, they have lots on offer. have fun

I've got the perfect suggestion for you its flying with jet2 which it is called algarve in portugal fun and the place to get a tan. hope you go

You don't say when? If soon then its really got to be canaries for hot weather cheaply. But doesn't have to be Lanzarote, try canariescancellations, not sure if its .com or .co.uk. Just put in dates and airport or area and it'll do the work for you. Seen some very cheap ones from Belfast, not looked elsewhere.

Because it's so last min & because he's going travelling for a few months very soon we want to spend as little as possible on flights/accommodation from ireland. We want to just pan in the sun for a few days & chill & take in the sights. Anybody know of anywhere that would fit our needs?

Have you thought about Praia da Rocha, Portimão, Algarve, Portugal?

Very convenient and easy to get to. Very peaceful and very spectacular sea and beach.

You should be able to fly out to Faro with no problem.

This is a very snazzy place to go to. It has a beautiful marina with bars, restaurants and cafes overlooking the Arade river and the sea.

The Portuguese are very welcoming and they have good food, excellent wine and beer.

You sure feel you are on holiday here. Perfect for unwinding. The place oozes relaxation!

Does anyone know any cheap caravan parks or cheap holiday parks?

Does anyone know any cheap caravan parks or cheap holiday parks? any area of the uk

Loads of them in Devon, from ones which are fields with a loo or some with everything.

What's cheap? and also what are you after, if you go really cheap you won't get much on offer at the site.

Try and find a smaller site, family run if possible, as the huge "Haven"sites are not only very expensive, but they usually don't have very good reputation, as they are too money orientated, and customer care is compromised. I live in Cornwall, and I know of many lovely smaller sites, and some bloomin' awful huge large sites.

Where can i book a cheap holiday in adance for summer 2008?

dont want to book last minute but would like something relatively cheap for gf and I. would like beach and sun. not keen on flying but might do short distance flight

www.firstchoice.co.uk

www.bargainholidays.com

www.lastminute.com

www.thomsonfly.com

If you're not that keen on flying, then head for the Algarve or Spain, where the flight is only going to take a couple of hours.

Tenerife is good too, but the flight is a little longer, and then you have Greece, or wonderful, sunny Cyprus ( i live here.....I'm biased!!) but then you have to look at a longer flight!!

I'm sure you'll find something! Have a wonderful time!!

expedia or travelocity

http://www.cheapholidays.com/

http://www.thomascook.co.uk

I always search around for the best prices and Thomas Cook have never been beaten on price in the last few years and there is such a vast choice of destinations. The earlier you book or a last minute deal seem to be the ways to get the prices. I usually book my next years holiday as soon as I get back from this years as I wouldn't like leaving it till the week before to get a late deal.

The prices I've been quoted in the Thomas Cook shops seem much more expensive than online.

Turkey or greek islands are great for holidays, the weather's great and booking is easy and cheap from your local travel agent.

See if you can find some cheap flights for your short distance fligth here.

Have a happy summer holidays.

Where's a good cheap holiday in September in Europe?

Must have good beaches, sun and mountains or other stuff to explore inland. I was thinking about Croatia but heard it's not that cheap anymore.

Some of the Greek islands are still quite summery in early September. And damn cheap aswell.

I have heard that Romania and Bulgaria are very cheap and beautiful, with all the stuff you want. Why not check it with a travel agency.

Hope you will find what you are looking for.

Protaras, Cyprus! everything you need in one area, but loads of other stuff to explore....including the Troodos Mountains!

www.libraholidays.co.uk

www.olymoipicholidays.com

www.kosmar.co.uk

try anywhere in turkey,it would suit all your needs for a september holiday and the countryside is stunning, the weather will be warm(not red hot)for when you are walking about and there are some really nice beaches too :)

Bulgaria. It was voted No.1 holiday destination for value this year.

Crete is brilliant and has everything you are looking for been twice in september and it is warm without being too hot.

Have you seen the value of the euro lately?

I am looking for a cheap holiday with a two year old?

We have already had a holiday this year so it would need to be really cheap-don't mind where it is as long as there is a beach nearby and things to do for my son. Any ideas??

Try Galicia, Northern Spain. You can get really cheap flights with Ryanair. Fantastic beaches, food and drink is really cheap and the people are wonderful. Try looking at the website www.exploregalicia.com

Isle of Wight maybe.

Go to

http://iluvtotravel.blogspot.com for tips and sharing experiences on travelling around Europe and around the world. You can book a hotel, plane tickets, car rental, train tickets and more and save money.

Go to Cornwall either camping or in a caravan - it'll be really cheap and you'll both have a great time - there's loads to do for all ages and it's a really beautiful place.

try a late deal in greece

Try the isle of wight. I own a nice Chalet there.Check out www.isleofwightchalet.co.uk

Little ones of that age don't usually ask a lot on holiday. Mine were always happy if they had some rock pools and sand.

We particularly enjoy the area around Bigbury in Devon - we have some lovely photographs of my daughter at about that age happily playing in the sand by the sea.

You could pick on an area and contact the local Tourist Information Office to send you details of caravan parks, B & B, Guest houses, etc., in your chosen spot.

Weston super Mare and Brean Sands were always a favourite when I was a child - a beach & donkeys to ride - and if the weather was poor we could always go on the pier and spend money in the slot machines. Shame they closed the big swimming pool.

Depending where you live , Possibaly a caravan site with the activities on Possibaly Haven

if it is a two year old u could probably bring it to the beach oor the park and it would be just as happy but mabey like a day at a carnival or something like that

Hi you may want try this link for GREAT hotel deals which I did and save me quite a lump sum when I was travelling recently.

Destination for a good cheap holiday for young couple?

We are thinking about going abroad next year, we will be 18. I don't think we'd like to go somewhere commercial like Ibiza or Turkey or anything. But being students, we don't have that much money. Where would be a good place to go? Thanks for any personal stories and sugesstions!

This site has a nice vacation finder tool http://www.worldreviewer.com/holiday/

You can put in your budget along with other things like when you want to go on holiday, how long for, what sort of activities you like doing etc and the site makes suggestions based on your travel criteria. They also have some good travel reviews and pictures so you get a good feel for their travel ideas before you book.

I would say if you come to europe stay in hostles they are so cheap and they have kitchens so you can buy really cheap food from stores and make home cooked meals or microwave food. We just got back from Ireland over christmas and it was crazy to see these people cooking like 4 satr meals it smelled so good I had to leave lol. But I would say fly to somewhere maybe say berlin germany but a train pass for a certain amount of countrys and stay in hostles. I would reccomend Berlin Germany Paris france Maybe if you have the money def londen good luck. and dreams do come try all of my travel dreams did when I pushed to get them

Last year i went away with my friends to Spain. To Lloret de Mar. I'm 18 btw. It has so many pubs and clubs and restaurants, and was so cheap. The year before that we stayed in Malgrat de Mar (also in spain). Its only 2hour flight from Manchester airport. And its like a cheap Ibiza!! lol!! Defo recommend Spain as a first holiday!! Good Luck!! x

Go to Prague! It may be a little pricey to get out there, but once you are there, it's super cheap. I would recommend checking out BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

Best places for a cheap holiday in November?

Having just got back from Tenerife we are looking at going away for a week in November. Ideally we would like somewhere cheap as it is nearing the end of year whilst maintaining a warm climate.

Try Greece. The weather is still warm and the hotels are cheaper.

http://gogreece.about.com/cs/folkloreevents/a/greeceholidays_5.htm

if you want to go to europe for a cheap yet amazingly good vacation--bulgaria. it has everything from countryside to cities to mountains to beaches. its great there. however, in november, it will be kind of cold.

Spain.

Any cheap holiday locations to visit abroad for University students in Europe?

I have £1000 stored away for trips and over my first year id like to visit some cool places, any ideas or recommendations on places to visit?

Go to the Czech Republic, it's super cheap for Europeans and Americans. It's really beautiful too. Malenovice, Prague, Chrudim, and Pardubice are my favorite places in Czech.

Eastern Europe is the way to go. I would recommend Prague. I think it is more romantic than Paris and it is very beautiful at night. I love Greece- If you want to see old ruins or want to enjoy nice weather. I found that to be a lot cheaper than say, Italy. Hungary is another one- Budapest has some great night life and the beer and food is so cheap!

Turkey is also very cheap. If you draw a line from Greece to Poland anywhere in that section is good value. The coastal areas like Croatia are beautiful but cost a little more.

Go to http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/Europe

You can have a look at each country and they have a cost guide.

eastern europe is 5468423 times less expensive than western europe, trust me!

Where is the best place to go on a cheap Holiday?

Im looking to book a week away in the sun somewhere...

A couple of options I have looked into is Gran Canaria, Marmaris, Costa del sol etc.

Im looking for a place where food & drink ( general cost of living ) is relatively cheap.

Any suggestions would be welcomed

Thanks.

Hi mate,

I work in the holiday industry and have travelled all across Europe.

Best thing for cheap holidays is to book last minute offers online such at Olympicholidays.com, thomascook.com, thomson.co.uk. These companies do all the main resorts such as Greek Islands, Spain, Malta, Bulgaria etc.

Each tour operator does a thing called "Budget saver" or "AOA". This means you can book a much cheaper holiday in a certain resort, but you leave the hotel up to the tour company's choice. Its a risk, as you could be staying somewhere very nice or not so nice. Depending where you're going, you can sometimes get a 7 day holiday for as little as 100 quid.

I wouldn't book through teletext or newspapers as they tend to leave out alot of info and prices for you. And you could end up paying alot more or finding yourself uninsured.

If you're looking for a cheap place for a holiday, then Bulgaria is becoming very popular and is by far one the cheapest places to go for food and drink. Great beaches, nightlife, culture and scuba diving. Avoid Cyprus as it is extremely expensive once you are there.

Mallorca is a great choice. My partner and I have been there twice within the last 18 months, we love it. It is as cheap as most places in the current financial climate, and there is such a variety of things to see and do. It is a beautiful island, and hiring a car isn't expensive (I would recommend doing this and driving through the mountains, it's beautiful and the best way to see the island).

Or there are plenty of towns all around the island that cater for all needs.

IF u want to Travel out of your country then i would suggest as per ur choice u should be in INDIA-GOA were u will find all the things which need from sun, sand, sea, drink, food, parties, and many more hot spot to have fun and relax .really the climate is also too good all this is very cheap and enjoyable if u really feel like visiting then log on to http://www.paulotravels.com from traveling to living

Well Myself and my partener are going to Rhodes in Greece for two weeks and it cost us £500 in total, self catering in September. I would class that as pretty cheap.

Also went to Spain 2 years ago. Barcelona! That was a good place to go and boooking the holiday itself wasnt expensive. Spent alot there though!

It changes every year as a new place make s a bid to become the new place to be and offers and discounts abound. Portugal, Spain and Turkey all offer bargains. Go on Teletext, find the ads with good offers and call them to find out what they have.

Tunisia is very cheap if you go B&B and use the local metro instead of taxis, you can get hotel and flight v cheap. We spent £600 in two weeks between two of us,

What about the Eastern Europe oldcommunist countries? Hungary Poland, Czechoslavakia, Rumania. Lovely cheap products and prices, beautiful lands and beautiful people.

Go to Turkey, its Cheaper than Chips.

Looking for a (very) cheap holiday in Europe, for a couple of weeks next September, with a 6 month old?

We are heading to England to visit family in September next year and are looking at a 2 week holiday somewhere in Europe that is both cheap and easy to get around, due to the fact we will have a 6 month old at that point. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We like taking in local culture, and will happily live on local cuisine to save money!!

There are only two websites needed to have a wonderful holiday.

Firstly use this baby site:

http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/travel/airlines/

To get clued up on tips for travelling as comfortably as possible with the infant.

Then this site for very cheap deals all over Europe:

http://www.uknetguide.co.uk/Travel/Deals/

Jen

Order tickets from easyjet to anywhere you like, which depends on your budget. That,is if you want to travel via air.

If you want to travel via bus,Eurolines is pretty cheap. The earlier you book your tickets, the cheaper it will be. For example,if you order one month earlier for a seat in Eurolines,it costs around 10 quids, only. Cheap, innit?

Then, you could stay at backpackers hostel. Or, you could goggle some really cheap hostels.

Poland, specially Krakow, is great! prices about 1/3 of US, which means 1/4 of the UK. Good train system, great scenery, great history, churches, palaces, etc. The Krakow town square, I could spend weeks just there.

And, sept is a good time, as many of the tourists have left, so it's not as crowded, but still not too cold.

.

im going to slovakia in jan with my partner and our son who is 6mnths, the flight was cheap with euro jet. its his home country and from what hes shown me, its seems a lovely place to go. were going to a small town called martin but i would like to go to bratislava or prague which is a train ride away from martin. you can buy more for your money too but their currency will change in jan from krone to euro so then i wont buy as many bargains i hoped for!

Nearer the time check sites like:

www.teletext.com

www.otbeach.com

www.icelolly.com

www.travelsupermarket.com

and leave from a UK airport.

You'll get some great deals.

Personally I love Greece. Very beautiful place.

Malta

Go to Italy! They will ignore you and lavish all their attention on the "bambino" freeing you up to see all the amazing sights, culture and food. Italians LOVE kids!

Best way to get a cheap holiday in Ibiza?

What's the best way of getting a cheap holiday to Ibiza? Must be decent accommodation and not in San Antonio, good place to chill plus close to Ibiza town. Package deals ok as long as the acommodation is not a big tower block

try travel republic //

Try sleeping with your local travel agent xx

I just went on a last minute to San Miguel in Ibiza, went to local travel agents on Friday and flew on Wednesday. San Miguel very quiet and picturesque There are no big tower blocks in Ibiza so you wont be in one anyway. The Island is very small and Ibiza town is accessible by bus for around 2 euros from anywhere on the island takes at most 40 mins.

Enjoy your holiday.

Try links from page below

try thomascook web page there are good prices there is one for 2 sep £188 nice little apartments

come "flight only" easy jet.there are plenty of apartments/hotels/pensions looking for clients.all at very reasonable prices.bus from airport to Ibiza town also taxis.(cheap holiday.... yes;but bring some money!)

The best way, is go to Mallorca. Do you know how expensive Ibiza is????

Really if you want a good cheap vacation Ibiza is not the place to go

http://www.palma-hotel.info

I would recommend getting a last minute flight only to Ibiza (or cheaper still is on standby at the airport)...

Get the bus from Eivissa airport to a hostel such as "Don Juan"... They are very cheap and serve their purpose if you simply need somewhere to crash and leave your stuff.... besides you probably wont be doing much sleeping anyway!

try ringing a travel agent instead of looking on the web

Where to get cheap holiday for last week of August?

Hi

Moneys tight but I really want to go abroad for a week in August. I look for flights but they are all about 400 pounds!

I would like a package holiday but is this more expensive???

Does anyone know where you can get a really cheap holiday, to any sunny destination, i don't care where i go so long as there is sun sea and sand!!!

I will be flying from London, please help!!

If you like Greece try

http://www.olympicholidays.com

then click on bargains

We booked with them to Greece recently and had a really great holiday - best value holiday we've ever had

Well if you're in London, guess you can go to the Mediterranean, but since it's summer, it'll probably be PACKED.

Another option you have is to get an all-inclusive in Dominican Republic or Cancun. It's actually the 'low' season so the all-inclusive prices are the lowest, just don't know about the flight prices from London. And of course, the good thing about all-inclusive is that you get there on day 1, leave your wallet in the safe, and take it back when you're leaving :) Nothing like being at the pool or beach and walking, get a beer or cocktail and go back to lying down

Try Last Minute.com and Teletext.com - there are loads of good offers.

Alternatively - choose Ryanair or one of the cheaper flight companies. Book your flights and look for accommodation in that area - which is cheaper than a package deal.

Why go abroad. The suns finally arrived in the UK. Shorten your footprint and stay local. Short breaks in the UK can be cheaper, but just as much fun.

give freedom direct a look they have some really good deals on there....have just booked for Costa Blanca for two at the end of august and it,s only costing 498..with transfers .hope this helps have a good time where ever you go ....happy holidays ...

Just go to a local place. Camping, local beaches?

But if you want a holiday, just, gather a bunch of people and divide the money equally to shrink your slice of the price!

Oh, rhyme.

(:

Go for Corfu, Crete or somewhere, late deals you can get all inclusive for around £200pp....have a look on expedia etc, theres loads of late deals online, keep looking, u will find a bargain!

Tenerife --> Beautful weather , Hot beaches , Nice Locals and its full of fun things to do --> Cheap 2 =] Have a niice holiday

ORLANDO! of course... sun, fun and can be cheap if you shop around.

late book... like the day before your planning to go look for a holiday... youll get it really cheap

The Dollar Store.

michigan

ohio

try expedia i saw some deals there yesterday

Any ideas on a really cheap holiday?

For the last five years my son (11) has had to watch his friends go abroad on holiday without us being able to. I can't even afford a holiday in the UK. I am trying to find a really cheap holiday in the Med or Balearics. My budget is up to £200 each adult cause I need to allow for eating, a little spend and get to the airport and back home.

Teletext holidays are good. Also eclipse direct are the direct company for first choice so they are cheaper (cutting out the middleman!). Their last minute deals are really cheap. The web addresses are www.eclipsedirect.co.uk and www.teletextholidays.co.uk

Have a look on ebay, sometimes there are really good last minute bargains to be had. If you can leave at short notice, i.e. 4 or 5 days then you might be in luck. Hope you can find something to get away from this dreadful English weather. Good luck !!

Why not try a Med camping holiday , South France , Northern Spain , takes a while travelling , cheap and good fun ..

Siesta holiday Good luck.

have a look a ww.lastminute.com - the other thing you could do is look on ceefax (if that still exists) at last minute deals...

you could lool up RyanAir.com and usually flights are going for 1pence each, but they go quickly, sometimes they go for £10 pp each including tax, each way but if you leave if right to the last few days before you want to fly out you will get it even cheaper .... then once you have booked the flights, book a hotel in the area again usually going dirt cheap, some half board others self catering, if youre lucky all inclusive ..

You may struggle to find a cheap deal during the school summer holidays. However, take a look at Teletext on your tv their website http://ww0.teletextholidays.co.uk/Holidays/Package_Holidays/ to see if there are any deals there. You could try lastminute.com http://www.lastminute.com/site/travel/holidays/ but I don't think they are as cheap as they used to be.

Try www.icelolly.com or teletext.com, I really hope you find something and the best of luck.

Yeah, you could go to Cancun, it's affordable and beautiful.

Try Turkey, Ive seen loads of cheap deals plus when you get there its dirt cheap.

I think you could find something all-inclusive for this price, but only well out of the holiday season. Try searching on the interenet or teletext.

A week self catering in Beirut.

Formula one hotels are really cheap. They are basic but good value. search for formul1 hotels and you will see what i mean. Hope you do get to go away....

Try teletext for a late deal

How can I book a really cheap holiday?

My family consists of me, my partner, my daughter (6) and 2 sons (2 and 4).

We are hoping to go on holiday this year but cannot afford to - does anyone have any ideas on how to get a really cheap holiday - we are not bothered if it is in this country or abroad or if it is for 2 weeks or 1. We just want to take our children to the beach in the sunshine and not stay in a complete hovel!!

Any ideas would be welcomed!

Camping is so much fun and so cheap - you can cook & take you're own food with you. Camping is great for children - they love it! Will give you stories to talk about when you get home thats for sure!

Bonfires, marshmellows - it'll be great.

You could even stay on a site with swimming pools and kids clubs.

If you go in the summer the weather will be great and you can even take you're dog if you have one.

If this isn't an option then www.icelolly.com is extremely cheap for holidays abroad.

My first piece of advice is to book flights and hotel together, because you will save tons of money... Where are you looking to go? I would recommend Mexico... You can get amazing deals. I would recommend checking out BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

Go to Malaysia. Affordable accomodation, food to suit your budget. Lots of beautiful beaches to go to. Log in to source below to know more about the country. There are links for you to get good deals for your holidays in view of the economic crunch.

Can you recommend a cheap holiday park in or near Newquay?

Mother is coming over from Oz, and wants us all ( loads of kids inour family) to have a family holiday around newquay area. We are looking forward to this, but as there are so many of us and we will be spending alot of money on excursions etc, we want a place good for kids, with ok evening entertainment etc but as CHEAP as possible. Links to sites, appreciated. Thanks.

One called sunnyside or sunny something like that and another called smugglers... but think one is more 18-30 and one has a 18-30 section.

Sunny one I think has a pool... not sure but you will need a car for both s(and get one that can carry surf boards as thats what you will be doing.

Note the seals in the harbour may bite off fingers so dont let kids get too close... bit like territorial dogs...

Should not be a problem if not on their harbour turf.

Also note... be able to swim 150m to go surfing, and never take off leashes, and If go to Penarporth stay away from the rocks to the left of the beach. Stay clear of anyone with a big parachute like kite... (string can slash like cheese wire as designed to pull people).

Surfing is cool they should love it...especailly with good lessons so they stand up.

There is gliding in the area past Peranpoth, Karting towards watergate bay and thats where they do the kiting ... to pull people on buggies and also do land yachting there too.

Sailors is a good nightclub.

Give plenty of time to go from A-B and get in and out of wetsuits and too the beach.

Some sort of heater/kettle advisable

you could still go to a big caravan park but save loads of money buy going direct with the owner, we did this last year and saved £600 (a lot of money), basically they are cheaper because they cut out the middle man, but most of them include all the usual park tickets, entertainment vouchers etc, but included in the price, they cater for the whole of the uk, and the owners have pictures, a write up and prices on the website, so you know how much before you phone them, the deposit is usually £50 per holiday (not person) and you get that back if you leave it tidy, they can be trusted 100% and ive reccommened them many of times now, the website is www.directholidayhomes.co.uk, good luck and hope you have a great holiday where ever you end up going!

Can anybody give me any tips on how to book a cheap all inclusive holiday?

Me and a few mates want to go to Zante from England but we are willing to go elsewhere with a bit of a nightlife without being too heavy like Ibiza.

We'd like to go all inclusive to save a bit on the drinks but can't seem to get a cheap one.

Does anybody have any tips on getting a cheaper holiday like this?

Try Kavos in Corfu through your travel agent.

To where ?

Don't book all inclusive. Sometimes you can get lower hotel rates by combining flights and hotels.

But the most economical way to travel to Greece, especially when you want to party instead of seeing the local culture and history, is to get charter or "no frills" flights then bargain for cheapest rooms in whatever town you choose.

In other words have an adventure rather than be looked after.

Cheers,

Can you suggest some cheap / affordable overseas holiday destinations from Sydney, Australia?

I am planning a holiday for my boyfriend and I for May/June this year. I have Thailand and Fiji in mind at the moment. However, can anyone else suggest some other cheap holiday destinations (other than Bali, Fiji or Thailand)? We'll be traveling from Sydney, Australia.

Your help is much appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

Well i would get the Tiger air to Singopare then on to Clark (Philippines) then you can explore by luxury foot passenger cruise ships the whole Philippine islands.

You have safety on the ship, and free food and beds !

The fares are about 10 AUD per night (goto the Visayas and Mindanao islands).

It is quite safe on the ship, especially if you get a cabin.

Sailings from Pier 14 manila, you can go from Clark by bus.

The fare is about 100 AUD from Sydney to Clark.

Then if you have time there is a boat from Gensan to Bitung and also from Zamboanga to Sandakan (malaysia) again, quite safe on the boats and in ports, in Malaysia you can get a KTMB train pass and explore. In Indonesia there are more boats to get you to Bali then I am also looking for a passenger boat to Darwin.

I am keen to goto OZ again, but not to fly.

Have a great trip !

Cheap holiday?

planning to go on holiday with my mates for my 18th birthday anyone know where i can get cheap flights and hotels. i am looking to go somewhere like cyprus

Well, with fuel prices being so high, you will really have to search hard for cheap flights......but I'll list some websites anyway.

Also, if you want to come to Cyprus, it might be worth considering The Takkas Hotel, in Agia Napa. Its right up in the cinter of Agia Napa, just a short walk form the shops, bars, restaurants and clubs, and only a short distance form some great beaches too. ( Liminaki, Nisi Beach, Adams Beach, Lantra Beack Makronissoss Beach)

This hotel is fairly basic, but clean and modern....and Chris runs a great little snack bar/bar! They have some great barbeque nights in the summer months too!!

You can find this hotel on; www.olympicholidays.com, and can find reviews on www.tripadvisor.co.uk

Where should myself and my girlfriend stay in Thailand for a two week holiday in June? we want nice beachs etc

We would like a relaxed place with lots to do though, but not in the back packing and busy areas if possible. First Visit!

Wherever you decide you will have a bit of a drive from Bangkok airport. About an hour or so to Patong but beaches are pristine and if you go to the right part you will be looked after totally. We go every year and always go to the part of the beach infront of the Holiday Inn, although we stay at the Patong Merlin. Great hotel and the staff become your friends and even keep in contact after you have gone if you make the effort to learn a little thai. Pattaya is another place but in my views the beaches are not as nice. Still a couple hours drive as well. Everything will depend on what sort of budget you have but if you want a longer chat then email me on fo01s@hotmail.com. Going back in August and travelling around hilly areas but I have lots of useful info on what to do, wot to buy and most impotatntly how to save that cash. Paul

I recommend either Phuket, Phi Phi Island, Koh Samui Island. Phuket is the best choice since it is very pretty and if you want to have a romantic time - stay on a less popular beach area and in a resort. Don't stay on Patong beach since that is the 'busy' and touristy spot - also the place where they have girly bars etc. that will put a crimp on a romantic trip. In Phuket you can lounge all day at the beach/pool or take little day tours (James Bond Island, Sea Canoe, Elephant jungle ride..)

I have never been to Phi Phi Island (you take a ferry from Phuket) but I have been told by many people that it is the most romantic place in the world. Very quiet and peaceful an beautiful.

Alternately you can go to Koh Samui Island which is also very pretty etc. and less crowded than Phuket, but more lively that Phi Phi. Yoy fly to all the islands from bangkok (Bangkok air, Thai Air and Nok air fly there).

I would spend 1 week on Phuket and 1 week on Phi Phi to mix things up. 2 days in Bangkok is worth it to see the temples and cultural stuff - also to do shopping for souveniers and trinkets. Also, don't bother packing too many beach clothes - they sell it all in little shops along the beach for cheap! Bathing suits, T-shirts, sun glasses etc.

Hi, the options are mentioned, Phuket will be a good choice if you want to do exploring around the place. On phuket island itself, away from Patong beach, you can get alternative accommodation with more orivacy and still beautiful beaches.

You can use Phuket to head to Phi Phi Island or other nearby island resorts too.

Other than this, you can also head to Krabi for more beach resorts options. You can make enquiries and booking while you are in Phuket for these other places.

Koh Samui is an option, just to watch the storm in the Thailand Gulf during the month. Place is also well known for its full-moon beach parties. You have to check before going though, as accommodation will be hard to book during this period.

One more option I can offer you is Koh Chang out in the east. About 3-4hrs by bus from Bangkok. Great beach resorts and lots of privacy.

One thing for sure, you get real fresh seafood from any eateries. Just dig in.

Go to Phuket!

Koh Samui is spectacular and not busy if you avoid the main tourist resorts. I normally fly into Bangkok, take a 50 minute internal flight to koh Samui. At the airport you have a mini bus service that can take you to different places in the island. I normally take the mini bus to Lamai. It's quieter than Chewang but still offers a lot of choice in terms of entertainment, restaurants and bars.

Is Thailand a safe place for a holiday?

Sure why not? Millions of tourists visit Thailand every year. Thailand may be safer than your own country! Bangkok will probably be safer than your own capital city.

Yes, there have been some political demonstrations in Bangkok, there will be some more too - but they were not directed at tourists only against the government or Thai on Thai confrontations. In Bangkok these demonstrations were concentrated near the government offices. The airport demonstration was inconvenient for tourists but not dangerous for tourists.

Life is an adventure, you could be in another country that has political problems that affect you!

Go to Thailand and have a nice time. Read up on what to see and do while you are there.

Very safe if you keep your guard up. Physical assault is extremely rare in Thailand even in Bangkok late at night. The jewelry scams and multi-stop tuk-tuk sight seeing rides are something to look out for. Most of these start as a well dressed Thai striking up a conversation on the street with you about... whatever: directions, safety issues etc. After they pitch their scam to you they pull aside some other local that "just happens to be passing by" to confirm that their story is true (he' in on it). Then they lead you to their "uncle" or "cousins" shop where they can get you "the best prices on gems/tickets to someplace/gold/meals".

Stay away from these sorts and don't be afraid to approach a tourist cop (yes, they have a special police force that protects their travel industry) if you feel you're being scammed.

Otherwise Thailand is very safe - just don't let your guard completely down.

Thailand is safe for travel at the moment as long as you are careful and use common sense.

Unfortunately, tourists aren't immune from danger in any country. There was a story this week about a German tourist that was killed.

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/30093118/Thai-tattoo-artists-faces-pre-mediated-murder-charge-over-German-tourist's-killing

But tourists can get killed in any country - e.g. in the UK a Brazilian was shot by the police a couple of years ago so nowhere is perfect:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1559317/The-day-Jean-Charles-de-Menezes-was-shot.html

Also in when travelling in Thailand be careful to never never insult the monarchy (or you might end up like Harry Nicolaides).

Also, I noticed a development in the Giles Ji Ungpakorn situation this week: http://www.asiasentinel.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1661&Itemid=185

I think it safer then most western countries. They do have crime here but most of the time it because the tourist is either a complete fool, on drugs, alcohol or made a Thai lose face. Just be smart, because of the economy thief is up.

I lived in Thailand for 2 years and I would say that it is a fairly safe place to holiday. My advice is not to get involved with the Thai people. Don't let them be your best friend, they only want you for your money I'm afraid!!!!

Its as safe as any other country and safer than most European cities.

The trouble in November was only in BKK and was political, the airports are all open and working well.

Yes it is safe to holiday in Thailand. Thais are a very happy friendly people, just be polite back to them.

why not contact Thailand Embassy and ask them to transfer you to their tourist office to find out which places are safe and if there are areas not advisable to visit.

I have been in Thailand (Pattaya ) for more than two years now and I would not want to be in any other country.....its a great life

It's very safe. My grand pa lived until he was 83, and my dad is now 85. They survived Bangkok pretty long so far.

No. The US maffias have left their country and are now occupying the Bangkok streets.

Always
