I'd been to both places on a short holiday.
Thailand is very beautiful and exotic. I enjoyed my stay in many places in Thailand. There's nothing, as in nothing's garbage.
Malaysia on the other hand, is a little anti-west as reflected on the speeches of their Prime Minister. I'd been to many different places from Johor to Kehda. I'd say, the places I'd been to are kind of lacking in something.... which I don't know what. The worst part is that one night, I was robbed at knife point in the City Center of Kuala Lumpur, few meters away from a police station.
I'd been to different places in South East Asia, if and when I am coming back, I won't certainly go back to Malaysia. It's a traumatic experience to visit Kuala Lumpur.
Hi, it depends on your interest and people you are travelling with.
Great destinations in Thailand include Phuket, Hua Hin for families and couples. For couples, other Thai destination include Phi Phi Island. The beaches are great!
For Malaysia, great beach holidays would be Tioman and Pangkor Towards the north, you'll have Redang for diving.
Malaysia holidays for families include Penang, KL (shopping), Genting Highlands (themepark) and Cameron Highlands.
im 15 and have been lucky to have seen more of the world than many people 5 times my age so i will share my vacation with you. last summer i took a cruise through Asia. Malaysia and Thailand were both on the itinerary. (i am sorry some of the places i went to are blurred.) i remember i took a tour in Malaysia and it was very nice considering I'm a teenager and it was a tour. the cruise ended in Thailand (that's where my family got off) and i remember we stayed for the night. shopping was good and my whole family (of six) got 2 massages for 8 dollars per person for one hour. (one in the airport waiting to catch our flight home and one because our taxi driver suggested it. it was lovely. the ladies were so tiny they actually walked on you. they served you tea at the end and were very respectful. they liked the fact that my brother and sister have blonde hair and blue eyes and bowed to our family about 9 times which (i dont exactly know why) made me feel good. i remember visiting a famous palace type thing (i think it was in Thailand too) where everything was ornate and decorated in gold. it was funny though, my sister was wearing shorts and needed to "rent" a sheet like cover up to hide her skin when we visited. i also just remember, we went to a show in Thailand with snakes and another with traditional dance and fighting and elephants. i got a picture standing under an elephant standing on two legs lol... oh and be aware of some of their markets, you can get good bargains and nice souvenirs but they literally will pull you into their "stands." and many open markets sell different parts of very smelly animals... other than that i am sure youll have a lovely experience!
