I am looking for a cheap holiday with a two year old?

We have already had a holiday this year so it would need to be really cheap-don't mind where it is as long as there is a beach nearby and things to do for my son. Any ideas??

Try Galicia, Northern Spain. You can get really cheap flights with Ryanair. Fantastic beaches, food and drink is really cheap and the people are wonderful. Try looking at the website www.exploregalicia.com

Isle of Wight maybe.

Go to

http://iluvtotravel.blogspot.com for tips and sharing experiences on travelling around Europe and around the world. You can book a hotel, plane tickets, car rental, train tickets and more and save money.

Go to Cornwall either camping or in a caravan - it'll be really cheap and you'll both have a great time - there's loads to do for all ages and it's a really beautiful place.

try a late deal in greece

Try the isle of wight. I own a nice Chalet there.Check out www.isleofwightchalet.co.uk

Little ones of that age don't usually ask a lot on holiday. Mine were always happy if they had some rock pools and sand.

We particularly enjoy the area around Bigbury in Devon - we have some lovely photographs of my daughter at about that age happily playing in the sand by the sea.

You could pick on an area and contact the local Tourist Information Office to send you details of caravan parks, B & B, Guest houses, etc., in your chosen spot.

Weston super Mare and Brean Sands were always a favourite when I was a child - a beach & donkeys to ride - and if the weather was poor we could always go on the pier and spend money in the slot machines. Shame they closed the big swimming pool.

Depending where you live , Possibaly a caravan site with the activities on Possibaly Haven

if it is a two year old u could probably bring it to the beach oor the park and it would be just as happy but mabey like a day at a carnival or something like that

Hi you may want try this link for GREAT hotel deals which I did and save me quite a lump sum when I was travelling recently.

Destination for a good cheap holiday for young couple?

We are thinking about going abroad next year, we will be 18. I don't think we'd like to go somewhere commercial like Ibiza or Turkey or anything. But being students, we don't have that much money. Where would be a good place to go? Thanks for any personal stories and sugesstions!

This site has a nice vacation finder tool http://www.worldreviewer.com/holiday/

You can put in your budget along with other things like when you want to go on holiday, how long for, what sort of activities you like doing etc and the site makes suggestions based on your travel criteria. They also have some good travel reviews and pictures so you get a good feel for their travel ideas before you book.

I would say if you come to europe stay in hostles they are so cheap and they have kitchens so you can buy really cheap food from stores and make home cooked meals or microwave food. We just got back from Ireland over christmas and it was crazy to see these people cooking like 4 satr meals it smelled so good I had to leave lol. But I would say fly to somewhere maybe say berlin germany but a train pass for a certain amount of countrys and stay in hostles. I would reccomend Berlin Germany Paris france Maybe if you have the money def londen good luck. and dreams do come try all of my travel dreams did when I pushed to get them

Last year i went away with my friends to Spain. To Lloret de Mar. I'm 18 btw. It has so many pubs and clubs and restaurants, and was so cheap. The year before that we stayed in Malgrat de Mar (also in spain). Its only 2hour flight from Manchester airport. And its like a cheap Ibiza!! lol!! Defo recommend Spain as a first holiday!! Good Luck!! x

Go to Prague! It may be a little pricey to get out there, but once you are there, it's super cheap. I would recommend checking out BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

Best places for a cheap holiday in November?

Having just got back from Tenerife we are looking at going away for a week in November. Ideally we would like somewhere cheap as it is nearing the end of year whilst maintaining a warm climate.

Try Greece. The weather is still warm and the hotels are cheaper.

http://gogreece.about.com/cs/folkloreevents/a/greeceholidays_5.htm

if you want to go to europe for a cheap yet amazingly good vacation--bulgaria. it has everything from countryside to cities to mountains to beaches. its great there. however, in november, it will be kind of cold.

Spain.

Go to: CheapHotels.com and you can find anything there, in what State you pick.

Any cheap holiday locations to visit abroad for University students in Europe?

I have £1000 stored away for trips and over my first year id like to visit some cool places, any ideas or recommendations on places to visit?

Go to the Czech Republic, it's super cheap for Europeans and Americans. It's really beautiful too. Malenovice, Prague, Chrudim, and Pardubice are my favorite places in Czech.

Eastern Europe is the way to go. I would recommend Prague. I think it is more romantic than Paris and it is very beautiful at night. I love Greece- If you want to see old ruins or want to enjoy nice weather. I found that to be a lot cheaper than say, Italy. Hungary is another one- Budapest has some great night life and the beer and food is so cheap!

Turkey is also very cheap. If you draw a line from Greece to Poland anywhere in that section is good value. The coastal areas like Croatia are beautiful but cost a little more.

Go to http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/Europe

You can have a look at each country and they have a cost guide.

eastern europe is 5468423 times less expensive than western europe, trust me!

Where is the best place to go on a cheap Holiday?

Im looking to book a week away in the sun somewhere...

A couple of options I have looked into is Gran Canaria, Marmaris, Costa del sol etc.

Im looking for a place where food & drink ( general cost of living ) is relatively cheap.

Any suggestions would be welcomed

Thanks.

Hi mate,

I work in the holiday industry and have travelled all across Europe.

Best thing for cheap holidays is to book last minute offers online such at Olympicholidays.com, thomascook.com, thomson.co.uk. These companies do all the main resorts such as Greek Islands, Spain, Malta, Bulgaria etc.

Each tour operator does a thing called "Budget saver" or "AOA". This means you can book a much cheaper holiday in a certain resort, but you leave the hotel up to the tour company's choice. Its a risk, as you could be staying somewhere very nice or not so nice. Depending where you're going, you can sometimes get a 7 day holiday for as little as 100 quid.

I wouldn't book through teletext or newspapers as they tend to leave out alot of info and prices for you. And you could end up paying alot more or finding yourself uninsured.

If you're looking for a cheap place for a holiday, then Bulgaria is becoming very popular and is by far one the cheapest places to go for food and drink. Great beaches, nightlife, culture and scuba diving. Avoid Cyprus as it is extremely expensive once you are there.

Mallorca is a great choice. My partner and I have been there twice within the last 18 months, we love it. It is as cheap as most places in the current financial climate, and there is such a variety of things to see and do. It is a beautiful island, and hiring a car isn't expensive (I would recommend doing this and driving through the mountains, it's beautiful and the best way to see the island).

Or there are plenty of towns all around the island that cater for all needs.

IF u want to Travel out of your country then i would suggest as per ur choice u should be in INDIA-GOA were u will find all the things which need from sun, sand, sea, drink, food, parties, and many more hot spot to have fun and relax .really the climate is also too good all this is very cheap and enjoyable if u really feel like visiting then log on to http://www.paulotravels.com from traveling to living

Well Myself and my partener are going to Rhodes in Greece for two weeks and it cost us £500 in total, self catering in September. I would class that as pretty cheap.

Also went to Spain 2 years ago. Barcelona! That was a good place to go and boooking the holiday itself wasnt expensive. Spent alot there though!

It changes every year as a new place make s a bid to become the new place to be and offers and discounts abound. Portugal, Spain and Turkey all offer bargains. Go on Teletext, find the ads with good offers and call them to find out what they have.

Tunisia is very cheap if you go B&B and use the local metro instead of taxis, you can get hotel and flight v cheap. We spent £600 in two weeks between two of us,

What about the Eastern Europe oldcommunist countries? Hungary Poland, Czechoslavakia, Rumania. Lovely cheap products and prices, beautiful lands and beautiful people.

Go to Turkey, its Cheaper than Chips.

Looking for a (very) cheap holiday in Europe, for a couple of weeks next September, with a 6 month old?

We are heading to England to visit family in September next year and are looking at a 2 week holiday somewhere in Europe that is both cheap and easy to get around, due to the fact we will have a 6 month old at that point. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We like taking in local culture, and will happily live on local cuisine to save money!!

There are only two websites needed to have a wonderful holiday.

Firstly use this baby site:

http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/travel/airlines/

To get clued up on tips for travelling as comfortably as possible with the infant.

Then this site for very cheap deals all over Europe:

http://www.uknetguide.co.uk/Travel/Deals/

Jen

Order tickets from easyjet to anywhere you like, which depends on your budget. That,is if you want to travel via air.

If you want to travel via bus,Eurolines is pretty cheap. The earlier you book your tickets, the cheaper it will be. For example,if you order one month earlier for a seat in Eurolines,it costs around 10 quids, only. Cheap, innit?

Then, you could stay at backpackers hostel. Or, you could goggle some really cheap hostels.

Poland, specially Krakow, is great! prices about 1/3 of US, which means 1/4 of the UK. Good train system, great scenery, great history, churches, palaces, etc. The Krakow town square, I could spend weeks just there.

And, sept is a good time, as many of the tourists have left, so it's not as crowded, but still not too cold.

.

im going to slovakia in jan with my partner and our son who is 6mnths, the flight was cheap with euro jet. its his home country and from what hes shown me, its seems a lovely place to go. were going to a small town called martin but i would like to go to bratislava or prague which is a train ride away from martin. you can buy more for your money too but their currency will change in jan from krone to euro so then i wont buy as many bargains i hoped for!

Nearer the time check sites like:

www.teletext.com

www.otbeach.com

www.icelolly.com

www.travelsupermarket.com

and leave from a UK airport.

You'll get some great deals.

Personally I love Greece. Very beautiful place.

Malta

Go to Italy! They will ignore you and lavish all their attention on the "bambino" freeing you up to see all the amazing sights, culture and food. Italians LOVE kids!

Best way to get a cheap holiday in Ibiza?

What's the best way of getting a cheap holiday to Ibiza? Must be decent accommodation and not in San Antonio, good place to chill plus close to Ibiza town. Package deals ok as long as the acommodation is not a big tower block

try travel republic //

Try sleeping with your local travel agent xx

I just went on a last minute to San Miguel in Ibiza, went to local travel agents on Friday and flew on Wednesday. San Miguel very quiet and picturesque There are no big tower blocks in Ibiza so you wont be in one anyway. The Island is very small and Ibiza town is accessible by bus for around 2 euros from anywhere on the island takes at most 40 mins.

Enjoy your holiday.

Try links from page below

try thomascook web page there are good prices there is one for 2 sep £188 nice little apartments

come "flight only" easy jet.there are plenty of apartments/hotels/pensions looking for clients.all at very reasonable prices.bus from airport to Ibiza town also taxis.(cheap holiday.... yes;but bring some money!)

The best way, is go to Mallorca. Do you know how expensive Ibiza is????

Really if you want a good cheap vacation Ibiza is not the place to go

http://www.palma-hotel.info

I would recommend getting a last minute flight only to Ibiza (or cheaper still is on standby at the airport)...

Get the bus from Eivissa airport to a hostel such as "Don Juan"... They are very cheap and serve their purpose if you simply need somewhere to crash and leave your stuff.... besides you probably wont be doing much sleeping anyway!

try ringing a travel agent instead of looking on the web

Where to get cheap holiday for last week of August?

Hi

Moneys tight but I really want to go abroad for a week in August. I look for flights but they are all about 400 pounds!

I would like a package holiday but is this more expensive???

Does anyone know where you can get a really cheap holiday, to any sunny destination, i don't care where i go so long as there is sun sea and sand!!!

I will be flying from London, please help!!

If you like Greece try

http://www.olympicholidays.com

then click on bargains

We booked with them to Greece recently and had a really great holiday - best value holiday we've ever had

Well if you're in London, guess you can go to the Mediterranean, but since it's summer, it'll probably be PACKED.

Another option you have is to get an all-inclusive in Dominican Republic or Cancun. It's actually the 'low' season so the all-inclusive prices are the lowest, just don't know about the flight prices from London. And of course, the good thing about all-inclusive is that you get there on day 1, leave your wallet in the safe, and take it back when you're leaving :) Nothing like being at the pool or beach and walking, get a beer or cocktail and go back to lying down

Try Last Minute.com and Teletext.com - there are loads of good offers.

Alternatively - choose Ryanair or one of the cheaper flight companies. Book your flights and look for accommodation in that area - which is cheaper than a package deal.

Why go abroad. The suns finally arrived in the UK. Shorten your footprint and stay local. Short breaks in the UK can be cheaper, but just as much fun.

give freedom direct a look they have some really good deals on there....have just booked for Costa Blanca for two at the end of august and it,s only costing 498..with transfers .hope this helps have a good time where ever you go ....happy holidays ...

Just go to a local place. Camping, local beaches?

But if you want a holiday, just, gather a bunch of people and divide the money equally to shrink your slice of the price!

Oh, rhyme.

(:

Go for Corfu, Crete or somewhere, late deals you can get all inclusive for around £200pp....have a look on expedia etc, theres loads of late deals online, keep looking, u will find a bargain!

Tenerife --> Beautful weather , Hot beaches , Nice Locals and its full of fun things to do --> Cheap 2 =] Have a niice holiday

ORLANDO! of course... sun, fun and can be cheap if you shop around.

late book... like the day before your planning to go look for a holiday... youll get it really cheap

The Dollar Store.

michigan

ohio

try expedia i saw some deals there yesterday

Any ideas on a really cheap holiday?

For the last five years my son (11) has had to watch his friends go abroad on holiday without us being able to. I can't even afford a holiday in the UK. I am trying to find a really cheap holiday in the Med or Balearics. My budget is up to £200 each adult cause I need to allow for eating, a little spend and get to the airport and back home.

Teletext holidays are good. Also eclipse direct are the direct company for first choice so they are cheaper (cutting out the middleman!). Their last minute deals are really cheap. The web addresses are www.eclipsedirect.co.uk and www.teletextholidays.co.uk

Have a look on ebay, sometimes there are really good last minute bargains to be had. If you can leave at short notice, i.e. 4 or 5 days then you might be in luck. Hope you can find something to get away from this dreadful English weather. Good luck !!

Why not try a Med camping holiday , South France , Northern Spain , takes a while travelling , cheap and good fun ..

Siesta holiday Good luck.

have a look a ww.lastminute.com - the other thing you could do is look on ceefax (if that still exists) at last minute deals...

you could lool up RyanAir.com and usually flights are going for 1pence each, but they go quickly, sometimes they go for £10 pp each including tax, each way but if you leave if right to the last few days before you want to fly out you will get it even cheaper .... then once you have booked the flights, book a hotel in the area again usually going dirt cheap, some half board others self catering, if youre lucky all inclusive ..

You may struggle to find a cheap deal during the school summer holidays. However, take a look at Teletext on your tv their website http://ww0.teletextholidays.co.uk/Holidays/Package_Holidays/ to see if there are any deals there. You could try lastminute.com http://www.lastminute.com/site/travel/holidays/ but I don't think they are as cheap as they used to be.

Try www.icelolly.com or teletext.com, I really hope you find something and the best of luck.

Yeah, you could go to Cancun, it's affordable and beautiful.

Try Turkey, Ive seen loads of cheap deals plus when you get there its dirt cheap.

I think you could find something all-inclusive for this price, but only well out of the holiday season. Try searching on the interenet or teletext.

A week self catering in Beirut.

Formula one hotels are really cheap. They are basic but good value. search for formul1 hotels and you will see what i mean. Hope you do get to go away....

Try teletext for a late deal

How can I book a really cheap holiday?

My family consists of me, my partner, my daughter (6) and 2 sons (2 and 4).

We are hoping to go on holiday this year but cannot afford to - does anyone have any ideas on how to get a really cheap holiday - we are not bothered if it is in this country or abroad or if it is for 2 weeks or 1. We just want to take our children to the beach in the sunshine and not stay in a complete hovel!!

Any ideas would be welcomed!

Camping is so much fun and so cheap - you can cook & take you're own food with you. Camping is great for children - they love it! Will give you stories to talk about when you get home thats for sure!

Bonfires, marshmellows - it'll be great.

You could even stay on a site with swimming pools and kids clubs.

If you go in the summer the weather will be great and you can even take you're dog if you have one.

If this isn't an option then www.icelolly.com is extremely cheap for holidays abroad.

My first piece of advice is to book flights and hotel together, because you will save tons of money... Where are you looking to go? I would recommend Mexico... You can get amazing deals. I would recommend checking out BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

Go to Malaysia. Affordable accomodation, food to suit your budget. Lots of beautiful beaches to go to. Log in to source below to know more about the country. There are links for you to get good deals for your holidays in view of the economic crunch.

Can you recommend a cheap holiday park in or near Newquay?

Mother is coming over from Oz, and wants us all ( loads of kids inour family) to have a family holiday around newquay area. We are looking forward to this, but as there are so many of us and we will be spending alot of money on excursions etc, we want a place good for kids, with ok evening entertainment etc but as CHEAP as possible. Links to sites, appreciated. Thanks.

One called sunnyside or sunny something like that and another called smugglers... but think one is more 18-30 and one has a 18-30 section.

Sunny one I think has a pool... not sure but you will need a car for both s(and get one that can carry surf boards as thats what you will be doing.

Note the seals in the harbour may bite off fingers so dont let kids get too close... bit like territorial dogs...

Should not be a problem if not on their harbour turf.

Also note... be able to swim 150m to go surfing, and never take off leashes, and If go to Penarporth stay away from the rocks to the left of the beach. Stay clear of anyone with a big parachute like kite... (string can slash like cheese wire as designed to pull people).

Surfing is cool they should love it...especailly with good lessons so they stand up.

There is gliding in the area past Peranpoth, Karting towards watergate bay and thats where they do the kiting ... to pull people on buggies and also do land yachting there too.

Sailors is a good nightclub.

Give plenty of time to go from A-B and get in and out of wetsuits and too the beach.

Some sort of heater/kettle advisable

you could still go to a big caravan park but save loads of money buy going direct with the owner, we did this last year and saved £600 (a lot of money), basically they are cheaper because they cut out the middle man, but most of them include all the usual park tickets, entertainment vouchers etc, but included in the price, they cater for the whole of the uk, and the owners have pictures, a write up and prices on the website, so you know how much before you phone them, the deposit is usually £50 per holiday (not person) and you get that back if you leave it tidy, they can be trusted 100% and ive reccommened them many of times now, the website is www.directholidayhomes.co.uk, good luck and hope you have a great holiday where ever you end up going!

Can anybody give me any tips on how to book a cheap all inclusive holiday?

Me and a few mates want to go to Zante from England but we are willing to go elsewhere with a bit of a nightlife without being too heavy like Ibiza.

We'd like to go all inclusive to save a bit on the drinks but can't seem to get a cheap one.

Does anybody have any tips on getting a cheaper holiday like this?

Try Kavos in Corfu through your travel agent.

To where ?

Don't book all inclusive. Sometimes you can get lower hotel rates by combining flights and hotels.

But the most economical way to travel to Greece, especially when you want to party instead of seeing the local culture and history, is to get charter or "no frills" flights then bargain for cheapest rooms in whatever town you choose.

In other words have an adventure rather than be looked after.

Cheers,

Can you suggest some cheap / affordable overseas holiday destinations from Sydney, Australia?

I am planning a holiday for my boyfriend and I for May/June this year. I have Thailand and Fiji in mind at the moment. However, can anyone else suggest some other cheap holiday destinations (other than Bali, Fiji or Thailand)? We'll be traveling from Sydney, Australia.

Your help is much appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

Well i would get the Tiger air to Singopare then on to Clark (Philippines) then you can explore by luxury foot passenger cruise ships the whole Philippine islands.

You have safety on the ship, and free food and beds !

The fares are about 10 AUD per night (goto the Visayas and Mindanao islands).

It is quite safe on the ship, especially if you get a cabin.

Sailings from Pier 14 manila, you can go from Clark by bus.

The fare is about 100 AUD from Sydney to Clark.

Then if you have time there is a boat from Gensan to Bitung and also from Zamboanga to Sandakan (malaysia) again, quite safe on the boats and in ports, in Malaysia you can get a KTMB train pass and explore. In Indonesia there are more boats to get you to Bali then I am also looking for a passenger boat to Darwin.

I am keen to goto OZ again, but not to fly.

Have a great trip !

Cheap holiday?

planning to go on holiday with my mates for my 18th birthday anyone know where i can get cheap flights and hotels. i am looking to go somewhere like cyprus

Well, with fuel prices being so high, you will really have to search hard for cheap flights......but I'll list some websites anyway.

Also, if you want to come to Cyprus, it might be worth considering The Takkas Hotel, in Agia Napa. Its right up in the cinter of Agia Napa, just a short walk form the shops, bars, restaurants and clubs, and only a short distance form some great beaches too. ( Liminaki, Nisi Beach, Adams Beach, Lantra Beack Makronissoss Beach)

This hotel is fairly basic, but clean and modern....and Chris runs a great little snack bar/bar! They have some great barbeque nights in the summer months too!!

You can find this hotel on; www.olympicholidays.com, and can find reviews on www.tripadvisor.co.uk

Where should myself and my girlfriend stay in Thailand for a two week holiday in June? we want nice beachs etc

We would like a relaxed place with lots to do though, but not in the back packing and busy areas if possible. First Visit!

Wherever you decide you will have a bit of a drive from Bangkok airport. About an hour or so to Patong but beaches are pristine and if you go to the right part you will be looked after totally. We go every year and always go to the part of the beach infront of the Holiday Inn, although we stay at the Patong Merlin. Great hotel and the staff become your friends and even keep in contact after you have gone if you make the effort to learn a little thai. Pattaya is another place but in my views the beaches are not as nice. Still a couple hours drive as well. Everything will depend on what sort of budget you have but if you want a longer chat then email me on fo01s@hotmail.com. Going back in August and travelling around hilly areas but I have lots of useful info on what to do, wot to buy and most impotatntly how to save that cash. Paul

I recommend either Phuket, Phi Phi Island, Koh Samui Island. Phuket is the best choice since it is very pretty and if you want to have a romantic time - stay on a less popular beach area and in a resort. Don't stay on Patong beach since that is the 'busy' and touristy spot - also the place where they have girly bars etc. that will put a crimp on a romantic trip. In Phuket you can lounge all day at the beach/pool or take little day tours (James Bond Island, Sea Canoe, Elephant jungle ride..)

I have never been to Phi Phi Island (you take a ferry from Phuket) but I have been told by many people that it is the most romantic place in the world. Very quiet and peaceful an beautiful.

Alternately you can go to Koh Samui Island which is also very pretty etc. and less crowded than Phuket, but more lively that Phi Phi. Yoy fly to all the islands from bangkok (Bangkok air, Thai Air and Nok air fly there).

I would spend 1 week on Phuket and 1 week on Phi Phi to mix things up. 2 days in Bangkok is worth it to see the temples and cultural stuff - also to do shopping for souveniers and trinkets. Also, don't bother packing too many beach clothes - they sell it all in little shops along the beach for cheap! Bathing suits, T-shirts, sun glasses etc.

Hi, the options are mentioned, Phuket will be a good choice if you want to do exploring around the place. On phuket island itself, away from Patong beach, you can get alternative accommodation with more orivacy and still beautiful beaches.

You can use Phuket to head to Phi Phi Island or other nearby island resorts too.

Other than this, you can also head to Krabi for more beach resorts options. You can make enquiries and booking while you are in Phuket for these other places.

Koh Samui is an option, just to watch the storm in the Thailand Gulf during the month. Place is also well known for its full-moon beach parties. You have to check before going though, as accommodation will be hard to book during this period.

One more option I can offer you is Koh Chang out in the east. About 3-4hrs by bus from Bangkok. Great beach resorts and lots of privacy.

One thing for sure, you get real fresh seafood from any eateries. Just dig in.

Go to Phuket!

Koh Samui is spectacular and not busy if you avoid the main tourist resorts. I normally fly into Bangkok, take a 50 minute internal flight to koh Samui. At the airport you have a mini bus service that can take you to different places in the island. I normally take the mini bus to Lamai. It's quieter than Chewang but still offers a lot of choice in terms of entertainment, restaurants and bars.

Is Thailand a safe place for a holiday?

Is Thailand a safe place for a holiday?

Sure why not? Millions of tourists visit Thailand every year. Thailand may be safer than your own country! Bangkok will probably be safer than your own capital city.

Yes, there have been some political demonstrations in Bangkok, there will be some more too - but they were not directed at tourists only against the government or Thai on Thai confrontations. In Bangkok these demonstrations were concentrated near the government offices. The airport demonstration was inconvenient for tourists but not dangerous for tourists.

Life is an adventure, you could be in another country that has political problems that affect you!

Go to Thailand and have a nice time. Read up on what to see and do while you are there.

Very safe if you keep your guard up. Physical assault is extremely rare in Thailand even in Bangkok late at night. The jewelry scams and multi-stop tuk-tuk sight seeing rides are something to look out for. Most of these start as a well dressed Thai striking up a conversation on the street with you about... whatever: directions, safety issues etc. After they pitch their scam to you they pull aside some other local that "just happens to be passing by" to confirm that their story is true (he' in on it). Then they lead you to their "uncle" or "cousins" shop where they can get you "the best prices on gems/tickets to someplace/gold/meals".

Stay away from these sorts and don't be afraid to approach a tourist cop (yes, they have a special police force that protects their travel industry) if you feel you're being scammed.

Otherwise Thailand is very safe - just don't let your guard completely down.

Thailand is safe for travel at the moment as long as you are careful and use common sense.

Unfortunately, tourists aren't immune from danger in any country. There was a story this week about a German tourist that was killed.

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/30093118/Thai-tattoo-artists-faces-pre-mediated-murder-charge-over-German-tourist's-killing

But tourists can get killed in any country - e.g. in the UK a Brazilian was shot by the police a couple of years ago so nowhere is perfect:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1559317/The-day-Jean-Charles-de-Menezes-was-shot.html

Also in when travelling in Thailand be careful to never never insult the monarchy (or you might end up like Harry Nicolaides).

http://www.usp.com.au/fpss/news-thailand/news-thailand129.html

http://www.prachatai.com/english/news.php?id=909

Also, I noticed a development in the Giles Ji Ungpakorn situation this week: http://www.asiasentinel.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1661&Itemid=185

I think it safer then most western countries. They do have crime here but most of the time it because the tourist is either a complete fool, on drugs, alcohol or made a Thai lose face. Just be smart, because of the economy thief is up.

I lived in Thailand for 2 years and I would say that it is a fairly safe place to holiday. My advice is not to get involved with the Thai people. Don't let them be your best friend, they only want you for your money I'm afraid!!!!

Its as safe as any other country and safer than most European cities.

The trouble in November was only in BKK and was political, the airports are all open and working well.

Yes it is safe to holiday in Thailand. Thais are a very happy friendly people, just be polite back to them.

why not contact Thailand Embassy and ask them to transfer you to their tourist office to find out which places are safe and if there are areas not advisable to visit.

I have been in Thailand (Pattaya ) for more than two years now and I would not want to be in any other country.....its a great life

It's very safe. My grand pa lived until he was 83, and my dad is now 85. They survived Bangkok pretty long so far.

No. The US maffias have left their country and are now occupying the Bangkok streets.

Always

Where is the best way to spend holidays thailand? phuket, phi-phi or somewhere else?

i am going to phuket and i need ideas on how, where to spend it. i have been to phuket before and i find it more attractive to spend it on the outlying islands , eg phi-phi, than on phukets. any idea?

Besides the islands and resorts in the south, why don't you try the north or the northeast of thailand. They're different to the beach resorts but worth to make visits.

I just came back from Mae Hongsohn some few hundred km from Chiengmai. I rent a car from Bangkok (you can do so from Chiengai airport) and drove it all the way to Pai (~90 km north of Chiengmai), stay one night at Pai and continue the trip to Maehong sohn, stay another nght and drove back to Chiengmai the other day and spent another night in Chiengmai. There're 874 curves to MHS if you reverse the direction I made. On the way back to Bangkok, I visited Sukhothai (Thai's capital 700 years ago) and Kampaengpeth. You'll see the ruin cities and they give you another feel of the visit.

There're lot of attractions and better to spen at least double more times in both Pai and MHS. There're lot to see and enjoy (treking, canoeing, elephant riding, meet the hill tribes people, etc). The weather is fresh, clean and real nice! Temp varies from low 10 (0-4 deg C on the hill) at night to low 20 deg C in the noon time

Since I'm a thai living in Bangkok, I'd say that the people of MHS won my heart and impressed me a lot (villagers, police officers, forestry officials, restuarant waitress, local vendors, and all people living there). They're so friendly, nice, soft spoken, willing to help people, broad smile, not tricky, etc. They're the the good old Thai I knew many years ago in Chiengmai, Chiengrai and Lampang. Please note, good meal there may cost you less than 100 baht a meal (you will see how 10 baht coin is worth there)

Try it and you'll feel great to have a real touch of the north. Northeasteran provinces are also recomended for your future visit.

I love Similan Island very much... white sand light green-blue water...colourfull fish and coral.....tranquility....relax and let's fun...not far from phuket http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20061222043831AAMAvIl&kid=ILBULzHZLXDZuJqiahhl&s=comm&date=2007-03-08+20%3A33%3A47&.crumb=

Koh Samui is another good one.

It's really up to you.

phiphi is smaller and nicer

Why are you going to phuket if you prefer other islands? If you have already done these islands try the main land. You can get a hire car on the mainland and travel all over thailand, there are so many interesting places to stay. live with the locals in grass huts, fish with them in rivers, go trekking with elephants on non tourist trips. All you have to do is stop in villages everyone is so friendly and they just love to show off their country. Be more adventerous and forget tourist areas so much more fun. Have a great trip

Pattaya - just back from there...

enjoy your holiday~

i guess u could try diving (if u have a divers cert) on one of the islands!!

Koh Samui or Koh Chang: Relax with Thai massage, beautiful beach and luxuary spa.

But if you prefer the crazy nightlife, better go to Pattaya, Phuket or Bangkok.

Well what is your question then? Phuket is not your goal, islands like Phi-Phi,Koh Samui etc. you might know already. A beautyful hyde-a-way is Kho Racha (expensive) and other "secret" places!Pls be more specific...

Sounds like you have a better idea of what you like than i will but why don't you try venturing around.. have the fun of finding your own spot.. maybe go north of Phuket to Ranong on the Burmese border - - the journey is the thing!! Enjoy..

Consider the beach resorts in Krabi and Phang-nga, as well as their outlying islands.

Phi Phi is great, but wears thin in a few days. After phuket and Phi Phi, why don't you take the boat that goes to Aonang? It's a beautiful beach, and smaller, more peaceful place with lots of cute shops and restaurants. There is also a little soi with clubs when you want to party.

It's about and hour from Phi Phi and I believe right now there is a boat from Aonang directly back to Phuket. Whatever you choose, enjoy!

WOW GOOD LUCK! BE SURE TO SEND YOURSELF A SECOND PASSPORT.

Thailand Visa expires on the "admit until" date or the day after?

I'm currently on holiday in Thailand and I have a 30 day visa. The visa stamp says "admit until April 12, 2009". Is this the last day the visa is good through, or is the visa invalid on this date?

I ask because that day is today and I want to do a visa run if it's still valid. If it's invalid though, a visa run would be kinda redundant. :/

Yes it is good to the 12. Aways good to wait to the last minute to figure this stuff out. Have fun on your visa run, and remember you will only get 15 days when you return to Thailand.

You could've gone to the Immigration Bureau and extended your stay until you get your itinerary in order. It only cost 1500THB as of last year.

I don't mean to scare you but overstays in Thai is not something you want to experience if the Thai cops catch you. However, if you're in the airport you will have to pay a penalty 500THB per day without jail. Unless you can't pay.

April 12, 2009 is your last day you can stay in Thailand and you must be out before that date. If not, you are on an overstay status and could be fined.

The last day to stay in Thailand is April 12, 2009.

sounds like on Apr.13 you are on overstay.

Which is cheaper for holiday the Phillipines or Thailand?

as a single man

Thailand may be cheaper, but spending a vacation in the Philippines may be more worth your money. One reason = BORACAY.You can never go wrong with Bora's white sand beaches, the excellent food, the nightlife, and the adventurous locals. Best part of visiting the Phils., majority of the people can understand(and speak) English. Easier to communicate! Filipinos are also very accomodating, no rude people here, and they are especially nice to foreigners. I'd say GO TO THE PHILIPPINES!

Thiland. But the Philippines is nicer. Beutiful island and sunsets. Its like Hawaii.

home, watching movie with pizza and beer.

philippines, thailand is too crowded with tourists already and language could be a problem.

Thailand but the Philippines is nicer. English is widely spoken so the worst thing that you could get into is the local can't talk to you in straight English but he can understand what you're saying and give some stammering answers which can still make sense.

Both are very cheap, but Thailand is a bit cheaper. I would choose the Phillipines though (been to Thailand and Phillipines), but I think that Thailand is a bit too commercial.

Thailand, but the savings/difference is not that big. If you want value for your money I would prefer Philippines. Most of the beaches are still unspoiled and not crowded.

having been in the philippines for 2 years I always laugh at remarks made by people like Julianna. If you go to the big malls and the posh hotels..people speak english. On the streets they do not.Try telling a taxi driver you need to go from Ayala to Pit-Os..he will add 500 pesos and plead a lack of english. Most taxi drivers here and most people do not speak conversationalist english.Never believe the hype that "all filipinos speak english".most do not.

Thailand maybe a little cheaper (esp. they have not fully recovered from the tsunami), but the Philippines would be nicer to spend your holiday... English is widely spoken so there will be no language barrier...

its Thailand.

I think that Thailand is cheaper... cuz i already been there a couple of times during the holidays.

Have you ever been to Phi Phi Island in Thailand?

I will be taking a week's holiday in Thailand, going to Phi Phi. I was hoping I could draw from other tourists or travellers' experiences.

- Where on Phi Phi did you stay?

- Which were some of the best bungalows central on the island, or which would you reccomend?

- Which activities did you do? Snorkelling? Boat trips? The kayaking?

- Could you describe your experiences and share about your trip?

Thanks in advance.

Long beach.

Phiphi is small and crowded but nice water.

Sorry I've never been but I've put a page below which includes link to torism. Hope this helps.

Hi

I have been there many times. It is very easy to find a bungalow in Phi Phi Island and the price will be very cheap during low season ( May -October).

Scuba diving is the very popular. The PADI course is available at any diving center on the island so just check the price and go. For those who already have a PADI license just book a day trip package with the diving center.

Sigheseeing and snorkeling : The most common type of transportation available in Koh Phi Phi remains the versatile long-tail boat. For hire practically everywhere, these taxis will take you-for a modest fee-to any of the scenic areas around the islands. Please note that the accommodation is available on Phil Phi Don island only so you may have to rent this kind of Taxi boat ( long-tail boat) to go to Phi Phi Le island for visiting the most famous Maya Beach ( where THE BEACH was filmed)

My opinion : Phi Phi Island is a must ! if you go to Phuket or Krabi.

PHi Phi island was affected by the tsunami in 2004 but many of those beaches and coral reefs remain undisturbed.

Have a good trip

Betty in Phuket

before the tsunami or after?

never been there... u have to share ur experience there with all of us wen u come back

I was on a boat trip from Phucket Island to Phi Phi Island. We stopped at a few beaches and went diving. (my son saw a shark!) The diving was incredible! I can't say much about the island. We ate lunch at one spot at a tourist restaurant and also stopped at a beach to see some monkeys.

I went there but to get a place right on the beach seemed to be expensive. I didn't snokel or anything because I don't like sharks, i know i know. These girls I met and shared a room with did though and they really liked it. There is some shopping to do but you can get the same stuff in Bangkok cheaper. The fresh sea food is amazing. Most of the resturants will have movies playing at certain times so you can watch them while you eat. One place had cooking classes that you could take. I stayed at a place where they did bamboo tatoos. It was called that also. It was only a very short walk to the beach and it was nice. the owner was very nice. I don't know what happened to it after the tsunami though. Every morning I would go and get a massage first that was so nice! Have fun, I am so jealous of you!

Boyfriend holidaying in Thailand with male friend: dodgy?

My other half Terence is joining his friend Bob at his holiday home in Thailand. Bob has a Thai girlfriend.

My friend Elspeth has a boyfriend Herbert who is currently on holiday in Thailand with his friend Malcolm, who has a Thai wife out there.

Elspeth is worried that Herbert may be cavorting with Thai ladies, and asks whether I'm worried that Terence may be doing the same. I don't really see the connection... as far as I can see, the lads are just over there for a bit of sun and relaxation. Am I being naive?

Thanks

yes. you are

not not at all. He probably just going out there for a holiday like you said. I wouldn't go worry about things like that. Just because his friends like the Thai ladies doesn't mean your fella will. He's his own person and if he hasn't cheated before there's no reason he would just because he's in Thailand. Dont fret!

well Thailand is the land of temptation, but if you trust your boyfriend and hes never given you reason to doubt him then I wouldnt worry too much about it

x

Naive definitely yes.

He wont find any thai ladies only lady boys.

Kick his ares out of the door. Or go with him.

They are probably running riot in Tuk Tuks, picking up Lady boys..

don't think to much into it cuz sooner or later u will get hurt

Best place in thailand and indonesia for entertainment?

i am planning to go for a week holiday by myself to thailand and indonesia. which part of thailand and indonesia should i go for entertainment?

Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket in Thailand!

Bangkok - Thailand

Obvious reasons

Dolly - Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia.

Dolly is one of the largest red-light districts in South-East Asia with more than 2,000 sex workers in hundreds of brothels in the heart of Surabaya, Indonesia's second-largest city.

For Thailand, go to Phuket or Pattaya.

For Indonesia, go to Bali.

If by entertainment you mean sex- sure peanut has the right idea, but if you are simply talking about having a good time, go to Bangkok. There is plenty to do.

A week to split between Bangkok and Indonesia is not a lot of time. If you are travelling alone, Bali is your best bet. Stick to Kuta and Jimberan beaches. Kuta has everything, Jimberan has the best seafood around, and a couple really nice clubs.

Food and drinks are cheaper in Bali than in Bangkok.

Enjoy your trip.

My dad is going to thailand for a holiday, i've heard you can get stuff really cheap over there, what are...

what are the best deals and bargains to look out for while he is on holiday.

Suits, women, gifts, food

T-shirts! Lots of choices at decent prices.

You can get knock-off Rolex Watches and brand name items but you also have a possibility of having them confiscated when you return through your country's customs checks.

Locally made paintings, carvings, souvenir "been there" mementos and other handcrafts.

You can pick up DVD movies and pirated software but this stuff may cause some problems when you return home through customs because of license infringements. Some movies may not play on your home video players or the software doesn't work right.

Computers may not be any cheaper than what you can get in your home country, depends on where you are from if they are bargains! Computers loaded with pirated or phony software may not get necessary upgrades form the "real" manufacturer.

Some warranties on electronic items may not be recognized in a different country.

Any breakable stuff can be wrapped in the souvenir T-shirts that you buy to lessen damage when you bring them home. You can use the local post office, UPS FedEx and other shipping companies to send stuff home for you.

Some people think they can get a good deal on gems but you really have to know what you are doing. Lots of scams involving selling phony or low value gems!

Remember some things you bring back may have to be declared on your customs forms!

Easiest things to bring back are lots of digital photos!

You can get almost anything there cheap......lots of copies especially clothes, watches, dvd, cd, belts, hats, shoes, beads, jewelery, paintings, crafts, antiques, lighters, socks, jocks, but remember nothing is cheap unless you haggle like crazy for it.

Best bet is to head over to the MBK Centre just off Siam Square. Here, your dad will be able to get hold of a whole host of stuff. Diesel jeans are a great bet here. But make sure you give your dad your waist and leg measurements because they cut them up to fit.

The top few floors are a great place to pick up tshirts and fake shirts. You can also pick up a fake branded rucksack/holdall to carry it all.

The fake watches aren't really worth spending money on - they generally fall apart after a few months - I've bought loads and never really been happy.

If its gadgets you're after then there's a great electronics centre not too far from Siam square. You just have to get your dad to take a tuk tuk and ask for the electronics centre. They'll all know what he means.

Best thing i ever got was glasses and prescription sunglasses but this is someting you won't be able to get your dad to buy for you. But perhaps he could get some for himself!

you can pick up loads of prostitutes for only a few bat

If you want knock-off watches do not go to Patpong, MBK, and other places a lot of tourist goes. I recommend going to Yaowarat in China Town, specifically Charoen Krung Rd, watches there are cheaper and I think better quality knock offs than MBK.

For DVDs, games, and electronics Sapan Lek or Fortune Rama 9 in China Town, for clothing Pratunam and for souvenirs JJ Market and Suan Lum Night Bazzar.

Can i take protein powder to thailand with me when i go on holiday or will it taken as illegal drugs?

This is a good question.

Now in many countries you can not bring in things like this.

Australia is one of them they will not let you import or bring in any legal supps like protein. I would definatly check what you can and cannot bring in and if you do not know for sure then dont chance it.

Thai customs rarely search passengers or their luggage, I'm sure if you leave the powder in it's original packaging you'll be fine. I've flown into Thailand over 50 times and have never been searched, it isn't an illegal drug and even if it does arouse suspicion, it won't be hard to determine that it isn't an illegal drug. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

If you have a doctor's prescription, it will help at the customs. Otherwise you can pack it in your check-in luggage and solve all problem.

why run the risk?

it might be down to the mood of the guy checking you at the airport whether its ok or not....

Any one suggest places to visit while holidaying in thailand?

we are spending 6 nights in phuket and 4 in bangkok.

Where to shop?

good cheap day spas to visit?

shows worth seeing? ( inc the ping pong one)

good places to eat?

any info appriciated

Phuket has some good shops and an amazing theatrical spectacular. We went to the disco underneath the Merlin Hotel and had an amazing night. Best to get a Thai agent to book your tickets and they will get 30% discount better than any tourist!

I live in Bangkok and one of the best places to shop is siam paragon which pretty much has anything you're looking for. places to shop places to eat movie theaters sports stores beauty shops - anything. Any taxi driver in Bangkok will know where it is so it doesnt take much to get there too.

Well, I think Josh's right. Although I like Central world better. Siam Paragon is a little too big. I have to walk and walk to find anything.

Is there a flight from Sydney which goes to HK, but allows you to stop at Thailand for couple of days?

I wish to go to Thailand for a holiday but also wants to go HK afterwards. But I don't want to buy multiple air tickets to get to different places.

I dont think there is a flight w/c goes that route. Usually CX flies to sydney from HK but doest stop over at Thailand.Try to search if Thai airways travels to sydney with a stop over in bangkok.

Best place to stay in thailand? (holiday)?

If i want to stay in a nice, reasonably priced hotel, ride an elephant without having to drive to somewhere ages away, and to have the beach pref. in walking distance from the hotel?

Where should i go?

e.g.

Phuket, Bangkok, ect.??

Koa Samui is way nicer than Phuket. You will probably have to fly into Bangkok first stay a day or 2 there and then Koa Samui. Bangkok is a dive and no elephants but worth checking out. 2 days is more than enough spend the rest of the time on the island and hire a scooter for $25 to get around. Most all of the hotels are on the beach and accommodation is dirt cheep

try Hua Hin; you can take a van from the Victory Monument BTS station there one way per person for 180 Baht (don't know what that is in Aus $ but USD is about $5.50)

it takes about 3 hours; there are tons of hotels that aren't all that pricey and close to beach; and you can always ride an elephant almost anywhere in Thailand....that is where I would go. I would stay away from Pattaya with a family; it's a land of 10,000 hookers (with a population of 10,050, only slightly exagerating) and Phuket is expense -- beautiful, yes, but high end....

BTW, Bangkok is an awesome city and HAS tons of elephants! Don't know why the other person said what they said....

best wishes in the Land of Smiles!

Jomtien Beach Thailand is about 90 minutes by express highway from Bangkok Airport. Beach plus shopping, restaurants, attractions, offshore island trips, plenty to see and do in and around Jomtien Beach Thailand.

The Natural Park Resort is very near the beach but there are plenty of hotels that meet your requirements. There is an elephant reserve in Pattaya and the prices are pretty reasonable if you look around. Once you book they will pick you up at your hotel.

How much time do you have for your stay in Thailand? If only 2 days, I will suggest you stay in Bangkok and enjoy the city scenes and temples and river and shopping. If you have more than 2 days, then you can consider heading to Pattaya as suggested to spend some time there. It is easier to get there from the airport and you will need time between travel to rest for your onward flight to Paris.

Pattaya has beaches and great seafood, plus there are places to visit too, like the Tiger Zoo, Nong Nooch Garden, Khao Khiao Zoo, Ripley's Museum etc. Have a look at this site on the attractions there: http://www.tourismthailand.org

Go Phuket if you have bigger budget.

I'm going to Phuket in April this year and am staying at the

5 Stars - Le Meridien Phuket beach resort. It's the best resort and is close to most attraction.

Check out the website and search the one that suit

You can go to the island of Koh Samet - it is a few hours drive from the airport. Alternatively you could rent a villa around Pattaya/ Jomtien area and get there by mini bus. We rented one from this place and it was very, very cheap. From there you can get shopping and do some tours to take you to see elephants, dances, etc. We used this company to book a very nice villa there.

http://www.fairproperties.com/houses_for_rent.htm

It lists them for a monthly rate, but you do not have to stay that long. Cheaper than a hotel, bigger than a hotel and the villa or apartment will have everything a hotel will have.

the nicest place ive seen was phuket.not phuket town or patong beach tough, but rawai beach in the very south of the island.its beautiful there and u can take a daytrip to the famous beach, from the "the beach" movie,on phi phi island.

I have been to Phuket, Hua Hin and Samui. Phuket was my favorite by far and I did not like Hua Hin at all. Least pretty beaches and they were crowed with people trying to sell you crap.

My question was for Holiday in Thailand. ?

OK so what is your question on a holiday in Thailand?

ok dear but what is your holiday Question? but i would like to suggest you that, you must visit india too because india is incredible and full of cultures here is lots of spiritual place which will take you to the Paradise.

so please visit india once in your life.

It is based on 14 dayz……..i think u must get atleast 14.i assime abt 4 persons….also these rates r for low season only.if u r traveling in high season.then just multipley it by 2 or 2.5 times………….n itz all from my personal experiences………n I think this answers all your question abt Thailand…….

Bkk

Thing to see on day 1(on day 2 exactly)

Grand palace

Wat po

Wat arun

Vnamek mansion

These all can be covered on the second day easily.stay the first nite at khaosan road n rest of the day long.u can get hotels there easily.u can get to www.sawasdeehotels.com n book your hotel online.will suggest u sawasdee krungthep in.u abt 1500 bhats for all of u will be reasonable…book online from the site n don,t worry.itz safe. The fourth day can be used as some relaxing time or u can even get some dose of spicy thai food or even go for floating market tour for 250 per head but remember to be at khaosan rd before something around 2 pm to catch the bus…..don,t shop for anything at khaosan rd.i mean not even some clothes………

Sawasdee hotels r on soi rambutri…………the major landmark there is hotel (o Bangkok).but the airport guyz will help u.

Take a bus to phuket as it will save your money In 3 wayz…

The rent of hotel for the nite as your nite goes in bus travel

Transfers from airport………

Useless expenditure on airtravel.

Also u get to see two movies!!!!!on the way……

U will get a bus per person for abt 450 to 500 bhats…..maybe 600 now coz of rising gas prices….

Transfers

Airport to khaosan rd….350 per taxi

Khaosan rd to vinamek mansion…..30 bhats per tuk tuk

U can walk to major temples………

Well remember to be in somewhat like a jeans while going to temples n all those religious places……girls.dress moderately……..coz then u may have to redress……………..

Phuket

Phuket is a gr8 destination if u wish to expeiance the best of seas.i think 4 nites would do good.

U will arrive in phuket at 9 am so the best way is to get your hotel booked……if u wish u can go to a travel agent n say that u wish to stay in le tong hotel which will be around 750 per room thatz makes 1500 bhats for all of u.itz a good hotel n in a safe area.if u wish to get there directly, head to patong kalim rd n itz just 400 m towards kalim from rock city,a pub, just next to police box…………….

Day 1

I would say that u go to kata n karon beach n patong one too for the day when u will arrive.well if u got guts.then go for kata beach by bus from novotel n then just walk the way back……arnd 22 kms…..if u can,t then u got to pay 400 bhats……….to tuk tuk driver……will suggest u to walk coz itz beautiful the way that goes through green forests n all…..

Day 2

I would say that u go for khai island tour.for 600 bhats at any travel agent…….itz good one n got lots of snokrelling n stuff…………..take a lot of sunscreen with u!!!

Day 3

I would highly recomment u phi phi,maya bay tour.abt 1400 bhats……itz awesome……

Day 4

James bond island tour……itz really awesome…………

Day 5.

Vist kalim beach till your bus arrives.it will pick u up from the hotel.it will be there by 1 so stay in time.the bus to Bangkok is abt 650 bhats….don,t know why it is more expensive………coz itz 400 while coming from Bangkok!!!

As u arrive in Bangkok, just take a bus to pattaya which leaves from ekamia which will be around 200 bhats from your bus stop……… i.e khao san rd

Bus form ekamai to pattya=128 bhats.

pattya

Day 1

Head to pattya beach n jometin beach n stay in pattya at any motel.i would recommend u sawasdee sea view.u can book that online too…………itz not a really good place for girls…but if u got some real men to escort u through, then itz safe too……

Day 2

Go to koh larn n stay there for the nite.

Itz a island which will take 20 bhats ferry from the pier

Itz worth a experience staying there on a island for a nite.dont miss it…..

Day 3

Nong nooch village.

Ripley measuem

Day 4

Leave for Bangkok.

Bangkok again

Now as u arrive from pattya at ekamai, take a taxi to patunam.itz a great place for shopping.i would say u should stay at amari Watergate, near baiyoke sky hoel .

Shop from the streets or big c or mbkBangkok will attract u like a magnet so I would say that 3 dayz will do good for shopping n sighseeing.

As u shop, also go for a vist to siam ocean world………….near siam paragon…..

Also u can go to jim Thompson house...............

Some tips

*Avoid taking a tuk tuk

*Never leave

Start your holiday with a few days in Bangkok and a final night in Bangkok before you fly home.

Good luck.

Could you choose by your favorite place that you prefer at

http://www.24onlinebooking.com/index.php

I just plan my long holidays with my family at Chiangmai in next month. that I find out the information and book the hotels 7 nights at

here and I have already checked price compare with others.I get

the competitive price and good service, appreciate.

So, why not go, a week in Bangkok or 3 weeks to travel around tour is long enough.

The food in Asia it the best in the world but he bathroom situation may be a problem.

My answer was going to be for your question, but since there isn't one I'll just take the 2 points and be on my way.

I'd say, just do it.

Check http://asianahotels.net for best prices on hotels there.

Go you will love it

I take it, shall i go was your question?

yes definetly, u will love it.

damn , i had a good answer prepared too

What is your question

and ?

Do you think €800 / $1100 / £730 is a good deal for a 3 week holiday in Thailand?

That includes all international flights (Ireland to Thailand) and return domestic flights within Thailand and 3 weeks in a guesthouse (inc. internet, a/c, cable tv, en suite etc etc) I think it's a good deal. Thanks

sounds like a good deal, don't know where abouts your going but am sure you will have fun!

you can find some cheap places to stay in bangkok easy enough if you have to overnight and plenty to do there so you wont get bored.

have fun !

Yes is it a holiday package thats great price

where you got that from

Check out lastminute.com for flights are about 500 +

rooms are about 20 uk up per night

budget on 30 quid per day spending per person

have fun I go this week for a month !!

Yes I would say you have a very good deal for flight and accomadation. Would recommend eating local food, great tasting and spicy.

You got a very great deal there!!! Chiang Mai and the surrounding area is very nice.

I have been to Thailand a few times and?

I have been to Thailand a few times and love it so much and am having trouble trying to go elsewhere fearing it wont be as good as my hanialdn holiday. I am wondering how Costa Rica compares to a Thailand holiday

Yeah, i agree with one of the answerer... go to Bali!

It's worthy & you'll love it from the start u reach the airport.

Try this link: www.bali2008.com

Have a nice holiday! :)

I have been to Costa Rica. Of the Places in Central and South America, Costa Rica would be the last place to go. If you like Thailand go to Puerta Villarta, Mexico. Great Beaches.

There are too many poor people in Costa Rica, and it totally sucks for parties. The locals are aggresive.

I wish I could halp with Thai, but I have not yet been there.

If you want a nice beach resort please go to Bali . It is so laid back and a PARTY place . Thailand is my favourite destination but i think in this region the next best thing is Bali .Consider this :

1 Sun & Sea - Kuta beach - surf ! Menjangan Island for snorkling and

diving

2 Many Temples that are ancient

3 Arts and craft in Ubud with plays that are unique

4 Party in Kuta or if your an owl go to Seminyak and party till dawn

If youre looking for something similar to Thailand, I would suggest Singapore. Its safe, and has alot of neat stuff like great food, bird parks, islands (sentosa, namely), an amazing zoo, awesome malls, and other touristy stuff.

Why don't you visit some of the neighboring countries such as Laos, and Vietnam. Nhatrang in Vietnam is a beach town not far from Saigon that is nice, there is also Dalat and a few other great places.....

Brazil or Philippines.

I can tell you Kim that they don't speak Thai in Costa Rica and they don't have Som Tum.

What are the legal documents required for visiting the Philippines or Thailand?

Thinking of going to the Phillippines and Thailand for a holiday, want to know what legal documents do I need and how long can I stay legally in each country

The answer varies according to the nationality of the traveler. An excellent resource that you can use to answer the question authoritatively is on the website of Delta Airlines. You just plug in your nationality and the country or countries your visiting and it tells you whether or not your need a visa.

http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/plan_flight/international_travel_information/visa_passport_information/

make sure you have your visa and passport... one stay can usually be from 1 to 6 months... that's for p.i.... for thai, i don't know... peace...

Help! I've booked my holiday in thailand and it's raining...?

I'm leaving on Thursday and am staying in Bangkok for three days before going on south somewhere - but i've looked and everywhere seems to be raining!

I know I should have waited til further out of the rainy season but it was too expensive, does anyone have any ideas of somewhere that is bound to be hot and sunny for at least a few hours a day? London is cold and dark! :(

Don't worry Bangkok is way better than UK and London, even when it rains it is hot.

The rainy season is almost finishing and I am sure you not get to many rainy days.

Things to do in Bangkok on the Sunny days go up river get the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Thaksin station a short walk (80 mtrs) to the pier take the tourist boat to the Grand Palace no more than 60 baht. Do the Grand Palace and Leaning Buddha in the one go. Walking or get taxi to Khao San Road. Have a nice Lunch in the bars watching the back packers, get their cheap noddles from the roadside and a nice cold beer. Go through the marketsto the end of the road and negotiate with a Tuk Tuk to tak you to National Stadium BTS Station (about 200 baht) way too expensive. Taxi would costs you about 100 baht. then back to your hotel.

Rain never Stops Bangkok from Partying!!!!!

thanks so much for your help everybody - it was snowing here last night so i am so pleased to be going away! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20081027161723AAD51DP&kid=HKFTPFT0UkU1rmY3tdPu&s=comm&date=2008-10-29+13%3A16%3A13&.crumb=

Just about everywhere in Thailand will be sunny for a few hours or more everyday and most places will have thundershowers that usually pass through very quickly this time of year. Don't believe the weather reports you see, almost everyday this time of year will have periods of sun and periods of thundershowers and it''s always hot here whether it's raining or not. Don't let the weather forecasts influence where you want to go, just go, you'll get plenty of sunshine.

The rainy season is actually very hot. I found it quite pleasant during my 2 month stay in 2006. It will also be sunny much of the time, but when it rains, it pours. It's very different from London rain, though, don't worry. Dress appropriately and you'll still have a wonderful trip, Thailand is an amazing place to visit.

It never rains everyday..

Besides, it only rains a couple of hours. Last week, I was in Hua Hin, my family called from Bangkok saying it was raining heavily and it was bright and shine in Hua Hin. Just go any where you want to and it will only rain half an hour or so.

lol. Yes it raining up and down the south western coast because of a storm in Burma. Where I live it's been raining on and off for the last four days. It's not going to last long, worry about crossing the street more then the rain.

Now seriously do ya really care about the rain ??? this place is fantastic regardless the weather enjoy the hot wet days/nights at least its not cold

Even on a sunny day you won't see much sun in BKK - too many buildings. Just ride it out - it is only water - and then enjoy the beaches later.

It's not raining today Oct. 28. It was sunny all day.

What was your favourite memory whilst holidaying in Thailand?

Hitchhiking all the way from Bangkok to Phuket. We missed the bus we booked cos our flight was delayed, so we (3 girls, 1 Thai) decided to just heck it and hitchhike so we get the most time in sunny Phuket.

We started at 1am, asked a taxi to bring us to town, and we waited at a petrol station. Met a nice guy on his way home from work, brought us to anothr petrol station, where we met a pickup on its way to Suratthani from Bangkok. We hopped in and slept on rice bags (a novel experience for us city girls), rolled around in the old pick-up van, getting all grimy and sweaty in the tropical heat.

We got pulled over at the province of Petchaburi at dawn by traffic police, who were suspicious because the pick-up had a license plate from a province in the north of Thailand, near the Lao-Thai border, and they found 3 girls sleeping behind, and me looking very Laotian, so they asked me to sing their national anthem to prove that I was Thai, and not an illegal immigrant from Laos. Took a long time to convince them I was not Thai, neither am I Laotian, and I have a valid passport. My friend who was THai, did a very rousing rendition of their national anthem, winning the smiles from the police, who then issued a warning to the driver, saying that he has taken note of the license plate so should we three girls disappear, he would be hunted down. THat really made me feel so much more relieved.

But we had a great great driver who was very kind. He brought us to the next stop before the road diverts, and found another car to bring us closer to Phuket. He took our number and issued the same warning to the next driver, that we have been specially looked out for by the police so they had better take good care of us.

And when we finally reached Phuket 17 hours later, all smelly and grimy, our lovely driver called again because he was so worried for us (or for the police).

It was an amazing experience, to see Thai life from the back of a pickup.

Standing in the sea on Bamboo Beach (Phi Phi Islands) looking out to the horizon and seeing dolphins swimming in the sea - heaven!

The beaches always had a great time!

My favorite which was funny also was when I landed and was going through customs. The girl checking my passport was asking me the usual questions, but they started getting more personal, and I could tell she was flirtting, then another female co-worker came up beside her, and she started to flirt with me also. The first girl looks at her co-worker with this evil face, and starts arguing with her in Thai. I thought they were going to start hitting each other any second. I then told them not to fight over me, and that I would be happy to treat them both to dinner. Which I did.

Nude obese female kick boxing!

2 Years ago i brought my family back to thailand for christmas. While walking across the street to a boutique, my daughter fell thru the sewer in the middle of the street! i was completely horrified and immediately called 911 but it turned out fine and we all had a good laugh afterward. we found my daughter did it on purpose for attention. since, she's been fine and learned her lesson for scaring me to death like that.

beach, weather and food
