Probably he can get in okay unless he is on some sort of a list for being involved in "international drug offenses!"
One caution - has he really kicked the habit or is he only "pretending" to have stopped involvement in drugs? Could he pass a drug test right now, you know get some of his hair off a comb and it would test out okay?
If he intends to dabble in drugs in Thailand all of you could get in trouble. Time in a Thai prison will make the time he did in a Western style jail seem like a luxury! No one would believe that he or your mother were "set up" by Thai police if something showed up in his luggage at the airport!
Will he be stopped - probably not! I don't remember any question on the immigration forms asking about listing a past criminal history.
Your first test will be if your own country issues him a passport without any restrictions.
Can you trust your step dad?
On a social visit pass, he should be able to enter as a visitor. Application for a long term visa will be more difficult.
So your holiday, he should be able to go along.
We let you in. Don't do drug kid!
Salut,
Bonne Vacances !!
If your just coming for a vacation of less the 30 days no he would have no problems coming to Thailand. The entry card you fill out for immigrations does not ask anything about a criminal background.
For a visa on arrival....no problem...as you are not asked about any convictions on your landing card....so you would be ok for 28 days....even for a a visa...this question is not asked...
