Holiday in thailand?

i'm going on my honeymoon to thailand for 6 ngts. 2 in bangkok and 4 in pattaya. can anyone recommend things to do while we are there.

thanks

May I give you an advice: avoid by all means Pattaya for your honeymoon! Thailand has so much to offer but do you want to spend an unforgetable time in a heavy red-light district? On the little Island of Kho Racha is a beautyful Hotel which is perfect for your purpose.

Yeah, Pattaya has a lot of bars, some people who say don't go there have never even been there!

Pattaya has cheaper hotels than Bangkok. Cheaper transportation to (if you are in the city and not out in the sticks somewhere.)

What can you do - you can sign up for tours through travel agencies, visit one of the many new modern malls, take in a movie in a modern theater showing current releases and visit the "Believe it or Not" exhibit. Lots of street vendors, several flea market locations, cheap eats, etc.

Beach in Pattaya city area (Beach Road) is good for walking, sun bathing, shopping, malls, street vendors but not so good for swimming! Best swimming at a beach is Jomtien or Naklua. Many cheap hotels, even in the 800 to 1000 baht price range may have pools!

You can avoid the bars or go in and have a few drinks. Up to you, no one grabs you off the street and forces you in!

Some women who are afraid that their men will stray don't want their husbands or boyfriends tempted by Thai girls!

Best thing about Pattaya is that it is so close to Bangkok that if you are unhappy you can leave and 2 hours later you are back in Bangkok.

Jomtien has some nice hotels, however, some of them are out in the boonies a little and you may have to pay a little bit to get to the city. No problem, newlyweds rarely leave the hotel anyway!

A hotel in the area between Walking Street and North Pattaya Road would make it easy to walk to many places.

Chiang Mai is a nice place to visit too! Up to you!

Pattaya is not a resort I would pick for a honeymoon. It is nice place go for a dive trip, trip to the islands, seafood meal. But is a Blackpool resort and new husband will have lots of prying ladies asking him for to come in. I hope your not the jealous type.

Bangkok and Pattaya has everything you wanna do. But, I'm sure you'd have a good time just being with your hubbie.

all the usual sights around bkk , place , wat arun etc, why pattaya, you know its a dirty hole right ???

you could make things nicer and head over to ko chang or ko samet

Pattaya sucks. If you want to go somewhere near BKK that have nice beaches and great for honeymoon, try Koh Chang, Koh Kham, or Hua-Hin. They're just couple hours from BKK and way better than Pattaya.

Pattaya is not the place to visit for famillies or married couples. It is a sex tourism town

Place to visit in Bangkok- Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Vimanmek Mansion, Jim Thompson's House

Shopping in Bangkok-MBK (paradise for a shopaholic and not expensive), Siam Paragon (very expensive), Pratunam Platinum (cloth and accessories for women VERY cheap), Jatujak Weekend Market (another paradise for shopping, be there early to escape the heat, print out the map of the market and be ready to bargain!)

You might want to take the Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise....(Buffet + Thai Traditional Dance-very romantic :D

Siam Niramit Show is very very nice (a lil' expensive for a show in Thailand but I enjoyed it a lot

Pattaya? it's crowded hmmm.... huahin is another place not far from Bkk that you can go apart from Pattaya. ohh...and near HuaHin if I remember correctly, there's an Outlet mall, another place to shop too.
